INSTALLATION
1. The Train Detection Module
can monitor up to four electric-
ally insulated track sections.
One rail has to be insulated at
both ends of the monitored
track section (Fig. 1), e.g., by
installing
Tracks.
Hint: The 10153 Insulated Track
features a terminal strip to facili-
tate power connections.
Attention! The insulated rail has
to be on the same side of the lay-
out for all track sections moni-
tored by the 55075.
Power to the insulated rail of the
monitored track section is routed
through the MTS Train Detection
Module (Fig. 1):
- Connect the rail with the termi-
nal "A," "B," "C," or "D" of the
55075.
- Connect one of the terminals on
the MTS Central Station with
any blue connector "a" on the
55075.
Hint: All blue terminals "a" and all
red terminals "b" are electrically
connected. You can use the
55075 to distribute track power,
e.g., to connect the other rail to
the MTS Central Station (Fig. 1).
2. On the other side of the feed-
back interface, there are three
phone-style sockets (Fig. 1).
- Connect the left socket marked
"LGB-BUS" with the MTS Cen-
tral Station using the included
cable.
- Use the two sockets on the right
marked "Slave" to connect addi-
tional 55075 MTS Train Detec-
tion Modules or 55070 MTS
Feedback Interfaces. The inter-
face connected directly to the
LGB Bus is the "Master." Up to
64 additional Feedback Inter-
faces can be connected in
series ("slave" socket to "slave"
socket).
Hints:
- Use the 55110 MTS Remote
Adapter to connect the 55075
8
10153
Insulated
MTS Train Detection Module
together with other MTS con-
trols to the original MTS Central
Station. Connect the 55075 to
the 55110.
- Both 55075 and 55070 can be
connected interchangeably in
the same "master-slave" chain.
- We do not recommend connect-
ing more than 20 modules via
slave-slave in series, because of
increased response times. Addi-
tional modules can be connect-
ed as "master" modules to the
LGB Bus. Each additional "mas-
ter" module must receive a sep-
arate ID Number (see ID Num-
ber).
- The 55075 cannot be used with
Analog Control "7+1" or "0+22."
- Do not connect anything that
draws
power
lights) to the tracks within the
"monitored" track section. The
55075 will detect any power
draw, not just trains. Connect
switch decoders to an unmoni-
tored track power source, such
as a track section that is not
monitored by a 55075, or direct-
ly to the MTS Central Station.
Hint: You can connect all 55025
in parallel to one cable routed to
the MTS Central Station.
- If you use the 55090 MTS Power
Extender, all monitored track
sections must be powered by
the same power source (Central
Station or 55090).
Caution! Do not connect the
phone-style connectors of MTS
products to your phone system.
The MTS product will be destroyed!
Caution! Use only the included
cable to connect the MTS Train
Detection Module. Even other
phone cables can destroy MTS
components, because the wires
often are interchanged.
HOW DOES THE TRAIN DETEC-
TION MODULE WORK?
If a train enters the monitored
track section, the corresponding
contact "a" is triggered. If the train
leaves the monitored track sec-
tion, contact "b" is triggered.
These "virtual" contacts can be
used to set 55025 MTS Switch
Decoders, to provide feedback to
(e.g.,
