This menu applies to the AES, AES LOW, FLICKERLESS and AUTO-IRIS operating modes:
Program the camera as follows:

Av:Pk
AGCMAX

AGCMIN
SHUTLIM
RETURN
1.
Select BLC (back-light compensation) with the cursor and then press ENTER.
2.
A submenu opens in which you can set the back-light compensation. For further
information, see Section 9.2.1 Back-light compensation.
3.
Define the Window Weight Setting for the entire range of brightness. If you increase the
"Av" value (the first value), the average light value of the picture is used preferentially as
a reference for the measure of brightness. If you increase the "Pk" value (the second
value), the peak light value of the picture is used preferentially as the measure of
brightness of the whole picture. Do not make this setting until you have set the DC setting
of an auto-iris lens (if used). Set the ratio using the RIGHT/LEFT keys. If the picture is
generally bright, increase the Av value in relation to the Pk value.
4.
Define the maximum and minimum values for automatic gain control, "AGCMAX /
AGCMIN". If the picture is too noisy, reduce the AGCMAX setting. If the illumination is

insufficient, you should increase the value of AGCMIN. (The AGCMAX value must be higher
than the AGCMIN value). Set the values using the RIGHT/LEFT keys.
5.
Set the response time (RESPONSE) of the automatic shutter control. The shorter the
response time (0.5sec = 1 to 15sec = 31), the faster the camera reacts to light changes
in the picture. Since this is not always required, e.g.: a bright back-light, such as car
headlamps, which darken the rest of the image, you can set the response time accordingly
via the RIGHT/LEFT keys.
6.
"SHUTLIM" (for AES only) defines the shortest illumination time of the electronic shutter.
The higher the value, the longer the exposure time. Less light is needed and the depth of
focus is increased since the lens can operate with smaller apertures over longer exposure
times. If this is not required (e.g., when monitoring fast-moving objects such as cars on a
motorway), you can set the fastest exposure time using the RIGHT/LEFT keys.
