F The condition of the battery
must be checked prior to
charging without time limita-
tion. Proceed with charging
the battery only if it proves to
be in perfect condition !
Charging without time limitation is
performed as described under nor-
mal charging.
Set time switch (1) to charging
without time limitation
The timer is not functioning
now.
F There is a risk of destroying
the battery due to overchar-
ging. In this operating mode,
therefore, the charging pro-
cess must always be monito-
red
and
manually
immediately after the char-
ging period!
Continuously monitor the charging
current on the ammeter (3).
F The instructions of the bat-
tery manufacturer must be
observed in all cases when
setting the charging current.
F The charging process must
be terminated as soon as the
charge current remains con-
stant or as soon as the battery
begins to produce gas !
Charging exhausted
batteries
In this mode, it is possible to charge
very cold batteries and batteries
which have an open-circuit voltage
of below 5 V, i.e. exhausted batte-
ries.
F Exhausted batteries must be
disconnected from the vehi-
cle supply system for char-
ging purposes.
F Only one exhausted battery
must be charged in each
case.
1. Disconnect the battery from the
vehicle electrical system.
2. Switch off main switch (7).
3. Set
the
voltage
switch (6) to the position "0"
(OFF).
4. Set the control knob (2) to the
left-hand limit position (mini-
mum charging current).
5. Connect the charging clips to
the battery with the correct pola-
rity:
– red clip to positive terminal
– black clip to negative terminal
F Make sure that the charging
clips are attached securely.
.
F Do not disconnect the char-
ging clips during charging.
6. Set voltage selector switch (2) to
position „12 V" or „24 V".
7. Switch on main switch (7).
8. Set the selector switch (1) to the
correct battery type:
ended
9. Set the charging current to the
value specified by the battery
manufacturer – insofar as possi-
ble – at the control knob (2).
F Continuously
charging operation.
10. Correct the charging current at
the control knob (2) if necessary.
F The charging process must
be ended as soon as the bat-
tery begins to produce gas!
After the end of charging:
11. Switch off main switch (7).
12. Set
the
switch (6) to "0" (OFF).
13. Remove the charging clips from
the battery.

6. Switch on main switch (7).
F The maximum current is
applied when the charger is
switched on.
Therefore, the charger may
only be switched on immedia-
tely before the starting pro-
cess and must be switched
off immediately after the star-
ting process.
7. Start the engine
F Starting aid may only be given
for a max. 1 minute! Then
