Troubleshooting

If the device is not working properly, please check whether you are able to rectify the
problem yourself fi rst. Otherwise contact customer service.
Do not attempt to repair a defective device yourself!
Problem

Potential cause/solution
• Is the mains plug properly connected with the socket?
• Is the socket defective? Try another socket.
• Check the fuse for your mains connection.
• Is the kettle seated correctly on the base unit?
• Is the device overheated? Wait until the device has
cooled off, fi ll it with water and then retry.
• Was the water level below the MIN mark?
• Has the lid been closed properly?
• Is the switch jammed?
• Are you using the device for the fi rst time? An odour of-
ten develops when using new devices for the fi rst time.
The odour should disappear once you have used the de-
vice a few times.
• Did you just decalcify the kettle? Rinse it off with clean
water.
