5. Check the free running of the impeller and the air
gap between the impeller and the steel ring, by
turning the impeller by hand. The impeller should
not rub and the air gap must be more or less the
same at all positions.
6. Install an external shutter or protective grille on
the outside. The fan should be secured against
the danger of foreign bodies falling in or being
sucked into the air channel. Make sure there is
protection against accidental contact in accor-
dance with EN 294.
When assembling or dismantling the
i
device, you should always use new lock
nuts, in accordance with EN ISO 7042.

Electrical connection

• • • • •
Only qualified electricians are permitted to
make the electrical connections, according
to the wiring diagram on Page 16 of the in-
structions.
• • • • •
Before working with terminal boxes, always
switch off the main fuse at the fuse box and
post warning signs advising not to re-apply
power. This is particularly valid where the on/
off switch is some way away from the fan.
• • • • •
Air flow direction: The air flow direction
factory setting is as follows:
outside
• • • • •
Reversing mode: The air flow direction can also
be changed by swapping 2 phases. As a result:
– the flow rate is reduced by about 35 %.
– the protection against foreign bodies being
sucked in may no longer be guaranteed.
• • • • •
The fan is designed for continuous operation
(S1), i.e. not for frequent changes of rotational
direction, which can cause the fan motor to
heat up to more than permitted limits.

motor foot
• • • • •
The fan may only be connected to a fixed elec-
trical installation with cabling between 1.5 and
2
4.0 mm
, depending on the fan type and how
the cabling is done (please refer to the current
DIN VDE 0298-4). Avoid using a motor cable
that is too long when operating with a frequency
converter.
• • • • •
The cables must be fed into the terminal box so
that the rubber grommet fits tightly round the cable
sheathing. If the power cable is not installed
correctly, the protection class indicated on the
rating plate cannot be guaranteed and no
claims can be made under the terms of the
warranty.
Alternatively, suitable plastic cable screw-
connectors can be used, which must be provided
by the customer.

Commissioning, Function test

against commissioning without
a subsequent system check.
WARNING
Danger of injury !
Before starting up:
Check that all screwed connections are tight.
Check the air channel for dirt. If necessary,
clean the air channel.
Check compliance with the Technical data and
the Operating conditions chapter.
During start up, check that:
The impeller is running quietly.
There is a free flow of air.
The air flow direction is correct:
Standard = With air drawn across the motor
Reversing mode = With air blown across
the motor.
