3 Applications and Functions

The control panel LED-32C serves for easy and
convenient operation of the DMX interface CPL-
3DMX and of LED spotlights and LED panels
equipped with the following DMX control channels:
a channel to control the red LEDs
a channel to control the green LEDs
a channel to control the blue LEDs
a channel to control the total brightness
The following units from the product range of "img
Stage Line" are recommended for this purpose,
e. g.:
CPL-3DMX
LED-200DX / RGB
LED-500DX / RGB
PARL-1DMX
PARL-1RGB /...
PARL-4SET
PARL-10RGB /...
PARL-30SPOT
PARL-30WASH
PARL-56PDX /...
PARL-64PDX /...
RGBL-30DMX
– The LED-32C operates according to the
DMX512 protocol. DMX is the abbreviation for
Digital Multiplex and means digital control of
several DMX units via a maximum of 512 DMX
addresses. The control panel uses the DMX
addresses 1 to 32.
– 8 DMX LED spotlights or other compatible
DMX-controlled units or 8 groups of units may
be controlled with the LED-32C.
– To quickly call illumination scenes, 4 memory
banks with 8 memory locations each are avail-
able.
– To programme sequences of scenes (chases)
8 further memory locations are available. It is
possible to programme a sequence of up to
32 scenes on each memory location. The
scenes of a sequence can be advanced manu-
ally, by music control or automatically at ad-
justable speed.

4 Setting into Operation

4.1 Connecting units

Prior to connecting units or changing existing con-
nections, disconnect the control panel and all other
connected units from the power supply.
1) Connect the XLR jack DMX OUT (21) to the
DMX signal input of the (first) spotlight.
For the connection, special cables for high
data flow should be used. Microphone cables of
standard screening with a minimum cable cross
section of 2 × 0.22 mm
possible can only be recommended for a total
cable length of up to 100 m. For cable lengths
exceeding 150 m it is recommended to insert a
DMX level matching amplifier (e. g. SR-103DMX
from "img Stage Line").
2) To control several units by the LED-32C, con-
nect the DMX output of the first unit to the DMX
input of the next unit. Connect its output again to
the input of the following unit etc., until all units
are connected in a chain.
3) Especially for long connection cables it is recom-
mended to terminate the DMX output of the last
unit in the chain with a 120 Ω resistor (> 0.3 W):
Connect a corresponding terminating plug (e. g.
DLT-123 from "img Stage Line") to the DMX out-
put jack. This should also be made if only one
unit has been connected to the control panel.
4) Connect the supplied power supply unit to the
jack 9 V (22) and the power supply unit to a
mains socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz).
4.2 Adjusting DMX addresses of the
spotlights
Adjust the DMX start addresses of the spotlights to
be controlled as follows (
