3) It is possible to connect an amplifier for satellite
speakers to the jacks LINE OUTPUT (5). Here
the filtered input signal without bass part is pres-
ent, either monophonic or stereophonic (depend-
ing on the unit connected to the input LINE
INPUT).
4) Finally connect the mains jack (8) via the sup-
plied mains cable to a socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz).
5 Operation
1) With the control FREQUENCY HIGH CUT (1)
adjust the lower cut-off frequency of the satellite
speakers. Thus, the subwoofer receives a fre-
quency range only up to the adjusted cut-off
frequency and the satellite speakers receive a
frequency range only from the adjusted fre-
quency onwards.
2) Switch on the connected signal source.
3) Prior to the first switching-on of the subwoofer,
turn the control GAIN (2) to the left stop to posi-
tion MIN so that the volume adjustment is not
too high at the beginning. Then switch on the
subwoofer with the mains switch POWER (7).
The power indication ON (6) lights up.
4) Adjust the volume ratio of the subwoofer to the
satellite speakers with the control GAIN.
If the volume is too high, the indication CLIP
(6) lights up. This shows that the integrated lim-
iter limits the volume when exceeding the maxi-
mum value. If the indication CLIP should light
up permanently, turn back the control GAIN
accordingly.
CAUTION Never adjust a very high volume.
Permanent high volumes may dam-
age your hearing! The human ear will
get accustomed to high volumes
which do not seem to be that high
any more after some time. Therefore,
do not further increase a high volume
after getting used to it.
5) After operation, first switch off the amplifier for
the satellite speakers, then the PSUB-115AK
with the POWER switch and finally the signal
source.
