Troubleshooting
Caution
Risk to the patient if the BIOM® ready is faulty.

If a fault occurs that you cannot rectify by following the
instructions below, dispose of the BIOM® ready in accordance
with the hospital's hygiene regulations and legal regulations
Fault Possible Cause
Adapter or dovetail  Locking screw is too loose
mount is wobbling
 Screws are loose
Cropped or decentered  The SDI®, other components, or the BIOM® ready adapter have
image been mounted skewed
Dull image  Optical surfaces are dirty
 Optical surfaces have been damaged by mechanical means
 The front lens is touching the patient's eye
 The patient's cornea is too dry
Blurred image  The BIOM® ready is maladjusted
 The BIOM® ready model is not compatible with the microscope's
lens
Insufficient fundus ob-  The front lens is too far away from the patient's eye
servation
 The microscope magnification has been set too high
Strong reflections on  The microscope illumination is switched on
the patient's eye or

Remedy
 Tighten the locking screw hand-tight
 Tighten the screws with a suitable screwdriver
 Re-mount correctly
 Clean the optical surfaces

Select the correct work setting, clean the front lens

Wet the cornea regularly with a suitable solution
 Focus the BIOM® ready in accordance with the instructions
 Check the BIOM® ready model based on the reduction lens and if applicable, use the
other BIOM® ready model
 Carefully reduce the distance with the microscope's focus
 Reduce the microscope's magnification
 Switch off the illumination; use intraocular illumination only
