The adjustment made here is maintained until
another channel is switched on. Then the adjustment
is reset which has been stored in the service mode for
the corresponding channel.

4.5 Service mode

In the service mode, additional functions can be sep-
arately adjusted for each channel.
1) To activate the service mode, keep the control but-
ton (6) pressed for approx. 1 s until the display (5)
is changed from the indication of the receiving
channel to the indication of an additional function.
The first digit on the display shows the function
selected, the second digit the value adjusted.
2) To select another function, press the control button
upwards or downwards, to adjust a function, press
the control button to the right or left.
3) To deactivate the service mode, keep the control
button pressed for approx. 1 s until the channel
adjusted is displayed again.
The following functions may be activated in the ser-
vice mode:
Indication of the receiving level
The second digit on the display shows the relative
receiving level between 0 and 9. The function may be
used to adjust e. g. the antenna of the receiver and
the antenna of the transmitter to an optimum trans-
mission. In this case turn the units so that the display
shows a value as high as possible.
Video output
The video output may be switched over from DC to
AC voltage coupling. The adjustment is shown by the
second digit on the display:
1 = DC voltage coupling
2 = AC voltage coupling
The DC voltage coupling is provided for the connec-
tion of an analog unit (e. g. monitor), the AC voltage
coupling for the connection of a digital unit (e. g. digi-
tal recorder).
Video signal encoding (polarity)
If the video signal has been encoded at the transmit-
ter by signal inverting, the signal at the receiver must
be re-inverted for correct picture display on the moni-
tor. For this purpose, select the adjustment "1". The
adjustment is shown by the second digit on the dis-
play:
0 = video signal not inverted
1 = video signal inverted

Power supply of an antenna amplifier
For power supply of an antenna amplifier a voltage of
5 V may be switched to the antenna input. The
receiver AV-5810R has a reception antenna without
preamplifier of fixed installation. Therefore, the
adjustment "0" must be selected in this case. The fol-
lowing adjustments are possible:
0 = no voltage at the antenna input
1 = 5 V for an amplifier
Channel dwell time
If several transmitters are operated on different chan-
nels, the receiver may automatically switch over
between these channels. For the channels to which
automatic switching-over is desired, a dwell time of 1
to 9 s must be adjusted. The adjustment is shown by
the second digit on the display:
0 = the channel is skipped
1 = dwell time 1 s
...
9 = dwell time 9 s
Signal suppression (noise)
The audio output signal and / or the video output sig-
nal may be suppressed when the unit does not
receive any signal or a poor signal. The following
adjustments are possible:
0 = no signal suppression
1 = the video signal only is suppressed
2 = the audio signal only is suppressed
3 = the audio signal and the video signal are sup-
pressed
Automatic stop and signal sound (hold)
The receiver automatically searches in the back-
ground through all channels for a switching signal. If
the automatic stop function is activated, the unit stops
on the channel with the switching signal and shows its
video signal transmitted. If the switching signal is not
transmitted any more, the receiver goes on search-
ing. With the signal sound function activated, a signal
sound is emitted via the audio outputs when receiving
a switching signal. The following adjustments are
possible:
0 = no auto stop, no signal sound
1 = auto stop with switching signal received
2 = signal sound with switching signal received
3 = auto stop and signal sound with switching signal
received

4.5.1 Factory setting

All additional functions are deactivated ex factory
(setting "0") and the video output is adjusted to DC
voltage coupling (setting "u1"). To reset the receiver
to this factory setting, switch off the operating voltage,
keep the control button (6) pressed down while
switching on the operating voltage.
