2.3 Tool servicing and maintenance instructions
The tool must be in a proper and clean condition before starting work. Any left-over remains must be
removed with a brush or soft cloth.
The joints must be lubricated at regular intervals with a fine key oil and protected against contamination.
If the hand tool is no longer required, store it in a clean and dry place.

Intended Use

The HPi 10 hydraulic hand took, TE PN 9-1579009-1, can be used to process various TE connector
types. A crimp insert is assigned to each connector that can be processed with this hand tool.
Crimp inserts for these hand tools may contain additional components, depending on the type of
connection to be processed (see Figure 1).

TE connectors can only be used in conjunction with wire approved by TE Connectivity.
Application note:
Cumulative Trauma Disorders can result from prolonged use of hand tools. Hand tools are intended for
occasional use and low volume applications. For extended use or production operations TE Connectivity
offers a wide selection of appropriate tools.
