Hand Tool Description

The HPi 10 hand tool for exchangeable crimp inserts consists primarily of a crimping head (1), a
cylindrical hand pump (2), a pump lever (3) and rotary handle for oil return flow (4), a pivot yoke (5), a
catch (6), a fixed receptacle (7) and a mobile receptacle (8) (Figure 3).

Note:
In particular if you want to replace crimp inserts that have already been fitted, make sure that the crimping
head of the tool is not pressurised. If it is, relieve the hand pump pressure by turning the rotary handle
clockwise (see Figure 3).
When the pressure has been relieved the mobile receptacle is stored to its original position and crimp
inserts can be removed or added.
Note:
crimp inserts with additional components do not have the same assembly height on both sides.
To avoid damaging crimp inserts, always ensure that the lower crimp insert halves are positioned facing
the right way in the mobile receptacle. Additional crimp insert components must not touch the mobile
receptacle. The force is transmitted solely
through the seat of the crimp insert (see Figure 4).
