Crimping

Note:
It is extremely important that the crimp inserts used are suitable for the connector to be processed, both
in terms of their profile and type. Incorrect applications can result in faulty electrical and mechanical
connections.
Note:
To ensure the connector is processed correctly, note the relevant processing specification. Crimp one
connector and compare your result with the parameters indicated in the processing specification.
1. Guide the connector into the crimp insert and place it on the bottom crimp insert half. To do this, you
may have to open the crimp head. Make sure the axial position of the connector is correct (Figure 6).

2. Fix the connector securely with a few strokes of the pump lever. Take care not to damage the
connector.
3. Insert the stripped wire into the connector sleeve and build up the necessary pressure for crimping
with a few strokes of the pump lever.
Crimping is complete when the automatic pressure relief is activated and the pump lever can be pushed
through easily. Both crimp insert halves should now be positioned on top of each other.
To open the crimp insert turn the rotary handle clockwise. This process starts the oil return flow, the
mobile receptacle of the crimp head then moves back to its original position. The crimped connector can
now be removed.
