OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! Always shut off engine before fueling. Never add fuel to a machine
with a running or hot engine. Move at least 10 ft. (3 m) from refueling site before
starting the engine. Do not smoke! Failure to follow this warning could result in
serious personal injury.
Note! The blower is equipped with a two-stroke engine and must always be run
using a gasoline and two-stroke oil mixture. It is important to accurately measure
the amount of oil mixed with gasoline to ensure the correct mixture. When small
amounts of fuel are mixed, even a small inaccuracy can dramatically affect the
ratio of the mixture.
WARNING! Always ensure there is adequate ventilation when handling fuel.
DANGER! Fuel is very flammable. Use extreme care when mixing, storing or
handling fuel or serious personal injury may result.
-
Always store gasoline in a container approved for flammable liquids.
-
Keep fuel away from any flame, spark or smoke.
-
Fuel cans may be under pressure due to temperature. Loosen fuel caps slowly
allowing pressure to equilibrate.
-
Never refuel blower with engine running or when engine is hot.
-
Do not fill fuel tank indoors. Always fill fuel tanks outdoors over bare ground.
-
Securely tighten fuel cap after refueling.
-
Inspect for fuel leaks. Do not start until leakage is repaired.
-
Move at least 10 feet (3 m) from fueling area before starting the blower.
-
A fire extinguisher should be positioned within easy reach of the fueling area.
MIXING THE FUEL
-
Gasoline – Use 87 Octane [(R+M)/2] or higher gasoline containing up to 10%
Ethyl alcohol.
-
Two-stroke oil – a two-stroke engine oil meeting API requirements must be
used.
UNPACKING
-
Do not use any type of pre-mixed gasoline/lubricant from fuel service stations.
This includes the pre-mixed gasoline/lubricant intended for use in mopeds,
motorcycles, etc..
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Gasoline to two-stroke oil ratio is 40:1. ( 25 ml oil to 1 L gasoline )
2. Fill an approved container with half of required amount of gasoline.
3. Add the proper amount of two-stroke oil to the gasoline.
4. Close container and shake to mix oil with gasoline.
UNPACKING
5. Add remaining gasoline to the container, close and remix.
6. Mix in small quantities. Do not mix more fuel than can be used in a 30 day
period, 90 days if fuel stabilizer is added.
FILLING THE FUEL TANK
1. Clean the surface around the fuel tank cap to prevent contamination.
2. Loosen fuel cap slowly to equilibrate pressure.
3. Carefully pour fuel mixture into fuel tank. Do not overfill, leave room for
expansion. Avoid spillage.
UNPACKING
4. Replace fuel tank cap and hand tighten.
5. Wipe up any fuel spillage.
