IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

-
To reduce the risk of injury associated with contacting rotating parts, stop the engine before installing
or removing attachments. Do not operate without guards in place. Always disconnect the spark plug
before performing maintenance or accessing movable parts.
-
Wear non-slip, heavy duty work gloves to improve your grip on the blower handles. Keep blower
handles free of oil and fuel.
-
Never let a minor or inexperienced person operate the blower. Bystanders, especially children and
animals should be kept out of the area where the blower is in use.
-
Never start or run the blower in an enclosed area. The exhaust fumes contain carbon momoxide, which
can kill you
-
Do not grab or hold the blower by the air tube
-
Take a break if you have used the blower for a prolonged period of time. Long-term exposure to
vibration can result in white-finger disease, a loss of sensation in the hands and the inability to feel
and regulate temperature
-
Obey all the local regulations of the working area or municipality.
UNIT/TOOL SAFETY
-
Inspect the blower carefully before each use. Replace any damaged parts before use. Check for fuel
leaks and tighten any loose fasteners.
-
Never modify the blower and use only approved replacement parts for repair work.
-
All blower service, other than the items listed in this manual, should be performed by qualified blower
service personnel.
BLOWER USE SAFETY
-
To reduce sound levels, limit the number of pieces of equipment used at any one time.
Operate the blower at the lowest possible throttle speed to do the job.
-
Check your equipment before operation, especially the muffler, air intakes and air filters.
-
Stop the blower engine immediately should children, animals, bystanders or helpers enter the
working hazard zone.
-
Keep the muffler away from all parts of the body while the engine is running.
-
Use rakes and brooms to loosen debris before blowing.
-
In dusty conditions, slightly dampen surfaces or use mister attachment when water is available.
-
Watch out for children, pets, open windows or freshly washed cars, and blow debris safely away.
-
Use the full blower nozzle extension so the air stream can work close to the ground.
-
After using blower and other equipment, CLEAN UP! Dispose of debris in trash receptacles.
FUELING SAFETY
-
Mix and pour fuel outdoors in areas free of sparks and flames. Use a container designed for fuel
storage.
-
Do not smoke or allow smoking near fuel or the blower while in use. Do not refuel a running engine or
a hot engine
-
Wipe up all fuel spills before starting the blower.
-
Move 10 feet (3 m) away from the fuel container before starting the blower.
-
Stop the engine before removing the fuel tank cap.
-
Empty the fuel tank before storing the blower. Store the blower and fuel where fuel vapors cannot
reach sparks or open flames from appliances or electrical switches/motors.
-
Always store gasoline in a container approved for flammable liquids.
-
Make sure the unit is properly assembled and in good operating condition.
