1. Operating instructions

1.1 Device description
Fitting of the heater element and the first-
time start up of the device may only be
performed by a skilled technician, who in
doing so assumes responsibility for its proper
operation and performance.
The thermostat is infinitely variable between
approx. 10 °C and 80 °C. For economic
reasons it is pre-set to approx. 60 °C. If
requested the skilled technician can set
another temperature range.

2.2 Notes for skilled technician
The guarantee only applies if the heater
element is installed by a skilled technician in
accordance with the assembly instructions.
Please observe the notes of the cylinder
manufacturer.
The heater element can be used for heating
systems in accordance with DIN 4751 and
domestic hot-water systems in accordance
with DIN 4753.
2.3 Installation
The permissible installation positions
in the storage tank are shown in
Note position of "Up" information label.
Installation from below is not permitted
for safety reasons (temperature selector
button up)!
The heater element is sealed with a PTFE
seal. Screw in heater element until at least
half of the thread is screwed in and the
specified installation depth is reached.
An extension piece G 1½ (customer fitted)
between the heater element and the storage
heater should not be longer than 65 mm.
for the user and qualified installer
1.2 Operation
The desired temperature can be set by
turning the temperature selector (1). Once
the temperature is reached, the device
switches off and will switch back on again as
and when required. To stop the heating

At temperatures below - 15 °C (e. g.
transportation/warehouse) the safety
temperature limiter may be triggered. To
release, press in the reset button (19).
2.4 Water connection
Observe the cylinder manufacturer's notes,
the DIN 1988 standard and the water utility's
regulations.
For unvented water heaters, a safety valve
must be installed in order to prevent the
maximum excess operating pressure as
specified on the cylinders output plate from
being exceeded.
For domestic hot-water heater systems, the
safety fittings must be installed in accordance
with the cold-water supply as shown in
Only model-approved safety valves may be
used.
2.5 Electrical connection
Note the I.E.E. Regulations. The device is
designed for permanent connection only.
Select a cable of the correct size to suit the
device's output. Using a device with a
isolating distance of at least 3 mm on all
poles.
The earth wire must be at least 100 mm
longer than all other wires.
The heater flange is set ex-factory to 6 kW,

An appropriate wiring-diagram label is to be
attached to the wiring-diagram label inside
of cap.
An appropriate wiring-diagram is enclosed
with the device.
1.3 Maintenance
The following should be observed where the

stripping must be considered. The
protective anode and heater element must
be checked for the first time at the latest
after approx. 1 year.
2.6 First start-up
H
The system must be filled first before
