4 Compulsory Registration
According to the R+TTE regulation (Radio
and Telecommunication Technical Equip-
ment), the approval of the transmitter is
valid in the countries of the European
Union.
By purchasing the transmitter, you
have also acquired the general approval
of the RegTP (regulation authority for tele-
communications and post) for the Federal
Republic of Germany. Nevertheless, you
are obliged to apply for a frequency
assignment at the corresponding branch
office of the RegTP in the area where the
unit is to be operated. The general appro-
val does not authorize the user to operate
the unit without frequency assignment. An
application form for frequency assignment
can be found on pages 15 and 16. The
corresponding RegTP branch offices are
shown on page 12, their addresses on
page 13. Failure to comply with the com-
pulsory registration is a violation of the
regulations for telecommunications appro-
val.
In other countries it may be necessary
to apply for a corresponding approval. For
this purpose, please contact your retailer
or the MONACOR subsidiary in the coun-
try where this unit will be operated.
5 Operation
1) Open the battery compartment and in-
sert a 9 V battery according to the imprint
in the battery compartment (fig. 2).
If the unit is not used for a longer
period (e. g. more than a week), the
battery should be removed to prevent
damage to the transmitter in case of
battery leakage.
2) Use the clip (3) to fasten the transmitter
to your girdle. If required, the clip can
be turned by 90° (locks into place). For
this purpose, slightly release the screw
of the clip and then fasten it again.
3) Put on the headband microphone and
connect it to the jack (5) of the trans-
mitter.
4) Switch on the transmitter with the
POWER switch (2). The power LED (1)
lights up. If it fails to light up, the battery
is exhausted and must be replaced.
Slide the POWER switch fully to the left
to position ON. In the central position,
the transmitter is mute, i. e. the trans-
mitter is switched on but no sound is
transmitted.
5) Switch on the receiver and speak into
the microphone. Adjust the optimum
volume with the VOLUME control (4). If
the volume is too high, the transmitter
will distort the audio signal: Turn back
the control to reduce the volume. If the
volume is too low, a poor signal/noise
ratio will result: Advance the control to
increase the volume.
6) After operation, remember to switch off
the transmitter, otherwise the battery is
exhausted the next time the transmitter
is used.
