6 Putting into operation
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to improper operation!
Improper operation can lead to injuries as well as damage to the device and its surroundings.
► Before putting into operation, it must be ensured that the contents of the operating instructions are known to the operating per-
sonnel and have been fully understood.
► The safety instructions and the intended use must be observed.
► Only adequately trained personnel may start up the system/device.
CAUTION!
Damage or functional failure due to incorrect connection!
An incorrect pneumatic connection can damage the type SPC Lite positioner. Prevent ingress of dirt and moisture with any open
connections.
► Before putting into operation, ensure correct pneumatic connection according to the diagram.
► Perform a function test upon putting into operation.
► To maintain the IP65/IP67 protection rating, connect the control air outlet that is not required to the free control air connection
of the actuator or close it with a sealing plug.
6.1 Invert process valve direction
In the factory settings, the following actuator end positions and status display colors are assigned to the valve positions:
Valve position
Valve closed
Valve open
Depending on the device combination of actuator type and valve type, it follows whether the process valve direction must be inverted
so that the valve position (closed/open) can be assigned to the actuator position:
Actuator with stroke movement of the switching spindle

Valve opens when pressure
