This charger is designed for charging of rechargeable nickel-cadmium and nickel-
metal-hydride batteries. Danger of explosion if other types of batteries such as
disposable, are inserted.
CAUTION
Keep the charger in a dry place (indoor use only). In order to avoid the
risk of fire and/or electric shock, the unit must be protected against high humidity
and water. Do not use the charger if there are signs of damage to the plug,
housing or connectors. Never open the charger. In case of a defect please return
to an authorised dealer.
OPERATION
Plug the charger into a convenient mains socket and place the battery/batteries
into the battery charging chambers. The charger will then start automatically.
The cells do not have to be inserted simultaneously as the charging circuits are
completely separate for each cell. When charging is finished, the batteries are
provided with a trickle charging current and they can remain in the charger
until use without being overcharged or losing capacity. If you want to discharge
the cells, press the discharge button (PRESS) for approx. 2 seconds. After the
discharge of all batteries (which can take up to 8 hours) or after the mains power
is temporarily disconnected, the charger automatically switches to charging. A
certain amount of heating of the batteries during charging is normal.
Remark: If the unit is subjected to severe electrostatic interference the charger
may prematurely switch to fast charging during the discharging mode. If this
occurs move the charger away from the cause and press the discharge button
again to restart the discharging process.
ENVIRONMENT
Rechargeable batteries are not to be disposed of in domestic waste. Return used
batteries to your dealer or even better to a battery collection point.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

To maintain and clean the unit disconnect it from the mains. Only use a dry cloth
for cleaning. In order to guarantee a perfect function of the charger keep the
contacts inside the charging boxes free of dirt or dust.
