Warns of the risk of material damage.

Target group

It is assumed that operators have specialist electrical knowledge for planning,
creating circuit diagrams, start-up, and maintenance. In addition, all relevant
directives, standards, and regulations concerning industrial safety and accident
prevention must be known and complied with.
easySafety devices may only be assembled and connected by an electrician or a
person who is familiarized with electrical installations. The installation must
conform to the regulations governing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
Use
easySafety is a programmable safety control relay to monitor signal encoders
that are used as part of safety devices on machines to prevent personal injury or damage
to assets. easySafety implements safety applications up to Category 4 to EN954-1,
PL e to EN ISO 13849-1, SILCL 3 to EN IEC 62061, and SIL 3 to EN IEC 61508.
easySafety can be used in continuous operation in applications up to Safety Integrity Level 3 in accordance with EN 50156-1:2004 if:
– the time between the functional checks on easySafety do not exceed six months and
– redundant relay contacts are used for the safety shutdown of the fuel supply on furnaces.
Safety and Standard Circuit Diagram
easySafety has a safety and a standard circuit diagram.
Create your safety application exclusively in the safety circuit diagram.
Safety Concept
The safety function is implemented by switching off the equipment outputs. In safe state, the semiconductor outputs the 0 signal and the relay outputs are open.
In a 2-channel architecture, use two equipment outputs or the redundant relay output for switch-off.

Interfaces

ES4P-221-... are provided with two interfaces: easyNet and easyLink.
These interfaces allow you to network easySafety with standard devices such as easy800
and expand them with easy200/600 standard expansion modules.
Intended Purpose
h
easySafety is a built-in device intended for mounting in an enclosure, a control cabinet, or an installation distributor (IP54).
If you use the device for any other purpose than its intended purpose, Eaton Industries GmbH refuses to accept any warranty claims.
Device Functions
easySafety supplies safety-related functions to solve safety applications:
Function Modules
– Operating mode selector switch
– High speed monitoring
– Light curtain and light curtains with muting function
– Emergency Stop
Installation
Power supply, Digital inputs, Test signal outputs
ES4P-...
h
The power supply and the input circuits must always be
powered from a single power unit. The power unit must
conform to the regulations for small voltages with a
safety disconnection.
Use the test signal outputs only to drive the inputs.
It is prohibited to drive loads!

Danger!
Indicates the risk of major damage to
property, or serious or fatal injury.
Only install the safety control relay ES4P-... after you have read and
understood the operating manual and this documentation.
A detailed description of the design, functions, and programming of the
device is contained in the operating manual on the enclosed CD
"ES4P Documentation".
If active components are controlled, such as motors or pressurized
cylinders, plant parts may become damaged or persons endangered,
provided easySafety is incorrectly connected up, or incorrectly configured
and programmed.
When the easySafety device is switched on, no danger may arise from
controlled devices, e.g. unforeseen motor start, or unexpected switch-on of
voltages.
Device outputs (QS., QR.) used in the standard circuit diagram are not safety
outputs, and may only be used for standard tasks. Make sure that these outputs
do not trigger any safety-related actions on the machine or plant.
easyNet and easyLink are non secure interfaces.
Do not transmit any safety-related data over these interfaces.
