Vehicle Leads

The Lister Vehicle Leads enable continuous clipping in the field from a vehicle battery
Safety information (see Figure 9)
• Never connect the Vehicle Leads to the mains electricity supply
• Regularly check the cables and connectors for damage
• Do not expose the battery or vehicle engine bay to naked flames
• Do not smoke when using the Vehicle Leads
• Vehicle batteries contain harmful substances, handle with care
• Do not disassemble or short circuit the vehicle battery
Clipping using the Vehicle Leads
• Uncoil the Vehicle Leads before use
• Connect the Vehicle Leads to the 12V vehicle battery (see Figure 10)
• The red crocodile clip connects to the positive (+) terminal. The black crocodile clip connects to the negative (-)
terminal. If connected the wrong way around the motor rotation will be reversed which may unscrew the crank-shaft
• Ensure the Clipper is switched off. Then connect it to the Vehicle Leads
• There is no need to disconnect the battery from the vehicle
• The power used is equivalent to leaving the vehicle's side lights on
• Oil the blades every 5-10 minutes
• Disconnect when not in use, and before removing or fitting blades (see Figure 2)
Overload Protection
• The Vehicle Leads are fitted with a replaceable 7.5A fuse (see Figure 10). This safety feature protects the vehicle
battery against short circuits. It may also blow if the clipper is severely overloaded due to blunt or clogged blades,
lack of oil, or excessive blade tension
• If the fuse blows, disconnect the clipper and Vehicle Leads immediately
• The problem must be rectified before resuming clipping
• The fuse is a standard 7.5A blade fuse available from most garages
