This conversion kit shall be installed by a qualified service agency in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and all applicable
codes and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. If the information in these instructions is not followed exactly, a fire,
explosion, or production of carbon monoxide may result causing property damage, personal injury, or loss of life. The qualified
service agency is responsible for the proper installation of this kit. The installation is not proper and complete until the operation of the
converted appliance is checked as specified in the owner's instructions suppled with this kit.
WARNING: Failure to position the parts in accordance with these diagrams or failure to use only parts specifically approved with this
appliance may result in property damage or personal injury.
CAUTION: Before proceeding with conversion, shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power.
1. Remove safety barrier, door trim, door, and logs from appliance.
2. Remove the two (2) screws securing the grate in place.
3. Remove the six (6) screws securing the media tray in place (Fig. 1).
4. Remove the four (4) screws securing the burner assembly in place
(Fig. 2).
5. Slide the burner assembly to the right and lift. Care must be taken to
ensure the air shutter rod is attached.
6. Using a deep socket, remove the main burner orifice. Replace with
the orifice supplied.
7. Remove the two (2) screws securing the pilot in place (Fig. 1). Using
a backup wrench, remove the pilot tube from the bottomside of the pilot
(Fig. 3). Remove the pilot orifice and replace with the one supplied.
Reattach the pilot tube and pilot to the bracket.
8. Replace and re-secure the burner assembly, ensuring that the venturi
fits over the burner orifice
and the air shutter rod is secured and sealed.
9. To convert the main valve, follow the instructions that are supplied with
the regulator assembly kit.
10. The conversion data label must be filled out and attached adjacent to
the valve.
11. Turn on the gas supply and check for gas leaks by brushing on a
soap and water solution. Do not use open flame.
12. Replace the media. Then light the pilot and main burner to ensure
that the gas lines have been purged.
13. Re-secure the door. Turn on the electrical supply to the appliance.
Purge all gas lines with the glass door open.
Assure that a continuous flow is at the burner before closing the
door.
