5. CHECK GASKET AND LUBRICATE:
Lubricate gasket using corn oil, soybean oil,
glycerin, silicone oil or silicone release agent.
DO NOT use Victaulic lubricant, hydrocarbon
based oils, greases or soap based solutions.
6. INSTALL GASKET: Press the gasket into
the cavity between the pipe O.D. and flange
recess. Be sure the gasket is properly posi-
tioned as shown. After gasket is in place, apply
additional lubricant liberally to the outer gasket
lip which will seal on the mating flange face.

7. MATE HDPE VIC-FLANGE ADAPTER
AND FACING FLANGE: Place a standard
flange bolt in the hinge hole and mate with the
adjoining flange. Add an additional bolt on
opposite side to secure HDPE flange to adjoin-
ing flange.
8. ADD BOLTS AND TIGHTEN: Add the
remaining standard flange bolts and tighten all
the nuts evenly as with a regular flange assem-
bly, until faces contact firmly or bolts attain rec-
ommended flange joint torque figures.
Piping systems must always be depressurized and
drained before attempting disassembly and removal of
any Victaulic piping products.
Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury,
property damage, joint leakage or joint separation.
