Eye protection equipment should comply with ANSIZ87.1 standards. Hearing
equipment should comply with ANSIS3.19 standards.
Wear proper apparel. Do not wear loose clothing, gloves, neckties, rings, brace-
lets, or otherjewelry which mayget caught in movingparts.Nonslipfootwear is
recommended. W earprotectivehair coveringto contain long hair.
Tum the machine off and disconnect fre machine from the power source before
installing or removingaccessoriesor blades,beforeadjustingor changingset-
ups,or when making repairs.

Tum dado by hand to ensure there are no obstuctions.
Always make the required depth of cut in small increments to ensure quality of
cut andto mantaincontrolof workpiece(pre-ventkickback).
Never cut entirely through workpiece when using dado set; seperated pieces
may be thrown.
Avoidkickback by neverripping aworkpiecethat is twisted or warped,or does
not have a straight edge to guide along thefence.
Never use chippers alone; grabbing and kickback will result. Always use dado
set with
both outer blades.
NOTE: The outsidearborflangecan notbe usedwith the dadoheadset.Tighten
the arbor nut againsttie dadoheadset body.Donot losethe oubide artor
flange.It will beneededwhen reataching a bladeto the anchor.
USING
A TABLE
SAW
The accessory dado head set table insert must be used in place of the standard
table insert.
Make sure workplace is supported to prevent falling onto fie cutter as cut is
completed.
WARNING:
The blade guard and splitter assembly cannot be used when
dadoingand must beremovedor swungto die rearof the saw,auxilliaryjigs,
fixtures, pushsticks andfeather boardsshouldalso beused.Alwaysinstall blade
guardafter dadoingcompleted.
WARNING:
Never use the dado head in a bevel position
WARNING:
Never use fre dado on a saw that will exceed tie maximum
recommended dado rpm.
USING
A RADIAL
ARM
Always use the proper moulding head and dado guard and anti-kickback
device when edge dadoing on radial are saws.
Positiondadoguard properlywhen edgecutting witl dadoset in horizontal
position.
•
In crosscut mode, never position workpiece between cutter and fence.
Positionguard andanti-kickback deviceproperlyfor crosscut,be prepared
to resist possibletendencyof cutter headto sell feed.
TIPS
FOR
USING
A DADO
Toensureaccuracyof cut, cleanall facesof the cutters.
Whenusing morethan oneinsidecutter,they should beequallyspaced in
the recessof the adjoiningcutter (i.e.teethat 45 degreesto eachother).
Ensure the carbide tips of the outside saw blades and tips of the cutters do
not come into conuct
with each other.
Instal' with the high points of teeth of the outer blades to the outside of the
stack as shown in Figure 1.
