TURN SIGNAL AND FOG LIGHT WIRING
NOTE: Please read full technical note prior to starting.
Due to an OEM hardware revision, front lighting circuits may require pin swapping within C4 connector to
ensure normal operation of front turn signals and fog lamps (if equipped). Verification of light functionality
prior to TIPM removal will be helpful in determining if this procedure needs to be performed or if vehicle
may have other issues with these circuits.
Undocumented variations in wiring colors and pin population makes it impossible to predict
which vehicles will require this modification and what wire colors may be present. Therefore,
replacement TIPM will need to be installed, and front turn signals and fog lamps (if equipped) checked
for proper functionality.
After installation:
If vehicle is found to have no right front turn signal, or right front turn signal and fog lamp (if equipped)
functionality is reversed, follow steps below to swap pins 7 and 11 in C4 connector. If no wire is present in
one of the positions, continue to move other wire as described.
If vehicle is found to have no left front turn signal, or left front turn signal and fog lamp (if equipped)
functionality is reversed, follow steps below to swap pins 9 and 16 in C4 connector. If no wire is present in
one of the positions, continue to move other wire as described.
Pin swapping:
Disconnect negative battery terminal.
Remove TIPM and locate vehicle's C4 harness connector.
Note current C4 connector wire population by drawing diagram or taking photos. This helps to ensure
ability to return wiring to starting point if any issues arise.
Using a small screwdriver, remove terminal lock from face of connector. Use a suitable tool to release
terminals that were identified as needing to be changed.
Swap terminals as described above.
Reinstall C4 connector terminal lock.
Reinstall replacement TIPM.
Verify front turn signal and fog light (if equipped) operation.
