  • Page 4 BEFORE YOU START ☑ Turn Off Power at Breaker Contact an electrician if you are uncomfortable performing electrical work. A licensed electrician must install the fan if required by local code. ☑ Gather Tools ☑ Prepare Fan Site and Gather Hardware CAUTION Do not use the fan with a dimmer switch or a third-party switch.
  • Page 5 BEFORE YOU START ☑ Check Ceiling Slope Consult the table below to make sure you have the appropriate downrod length for your ceiling slope. The fan can be installed on a flat or sloped ceiling with an angle no greater than 33° (approximately 8:12 roof pitch). For minimum clearance guidelines, consult the Important Safety Instructions booklet included with this installation guide.

  • Page 9 FAN INSTALLATION 1. Install mounting bracket WARNING Disconnect power to fan location before installing mounting bracket. Mount only to an outlet box marked acceptable for fan support. Secure mounting bracket cover to mounting bracket. Be careful not to break the four tabs on the mounting bracket cover.

  • Page 13 FAN INSTALLATION 3. Install downrod Align arrow on downrod with arrow on motor shaft and connect downrod ground wire and safety cable to shaft (Fig. 3.1). Make sure cable lugs are pointing straight up and are not turned at an angle (Fig. 3.2). Route each wiring harness out of the downrod on the same side as its matching harness on the motor shaft (Fig.
  • Page 14 FAN INSTALLATION Gently pull downrod wiring harnesses downward to create enough slack to reach motor shaft harnesses, and then connect the harnesses (Fig. 3.4). Make sure all hardware is secure, and then gently tug cables at top of downrod to reduce slack (Fig.

  • Page 16 FAN INSTALLATION 5. Install mounting ball Do not over-tighten the wedge screw. Slide mounting ball over downrod (Fig. 5.1). Insert steel pin into hole at top of downrod, and then slide the mounting ball upward, seating the steel pin in the inner slots (Fig. 5.2). Insert wedge into mounting ball and secure with wedge screw (Fig.
  • Page 17 FAN INSTALLATION 6. Hang fan Raise fan to mounting bracket. Align rib in mounting bracket with slot in mounting ball, position mounting ball, and let fan hang freely (Fig. 6). Gently twist downrod to ensure it is properly seated and will not move during fan operation.
  • Page 18 FAN INSTALLATION 8. Connect wiring harnesses and Earth/Ground wire Connect the two wiring harnesses from the downrod to the harnesses on the back of the control box (Fig. 8.1). Secure green Earth/Ground wire from downrod to mounting bracket (Fig. 8.1). Connect wiring harness from ceiling to wiring harness on front of control box (Fig.
  • Page 19 FAN INSTALLATION 9. Secure safety cable Some local safety codes require the safety cable to be secured directly to an existing part of the building structure (Canada, Singapore). It may be necessary to install additional structural material to provide attachment points. Check your local safety code if you are unsure. Acceptable building structures include a wooden beam or a metal mounting brace secured between two beams. In some cases, it may be necessary to install additional structural material to provide attachment points.

Install airfoils Loosen screw on bottom of fan next to an airfoil slot (Fig. 11.1). Make sure there is enough space for the airfoil to slide into the slot and rest on top of the screw head (Fig.
  • Page 22 FAN INSTALLATION Slide an airfoil into the slot, resting it on top of the screw head (Fig. 11.2). Make sure the three holes on the airfoil are aligned with the three holes on the hub. Loosely attach an airfoil retainer to the airfoil (Fig. 11.3). Do not fully tighten the screws. Repeat to install remaining airfoils.
  • Page 23 FAN INSTALLATION 12. Install light or reinstall lower cover CAUTION To reduce the risk of electric shock, disconnect power to fan before installing light. If installing a light, plug light wiring harness into “LED” receptacle on bottom of fan (Fig. 12a).

Make sure all wires and the safety cable are tucked into wiring cover, and then twist wiring cover clockwise to lock (Fig. 14.1). Fig.

Mise en place de la tige de prolongation Alignez la fl èche de la tige de prolongation sur celle de l’arbre moteur et attachez le fi lin et le fi l de terre à l’arbre (Fig. 3.1). Assurez-vous que les cosses du fi l de terre et du fi lin sont orientées verticalement et ne sont pas inclinées (Fig. 3.2).

Assurez-vous que les vis sont bien serrées, puis tirez doucement sur les faisceaux en haut de la tige de prolongation afi n d’éliminer le mou (Fig. 3.5).

Mise en place du fi lin de sécurité Les normes de sécurité applicables dans certains pays (Canada, Singapour) exigent que le fi lin de sécurité soit directement fi xé à un élément structurel du bâtiment. Vous devrez si nécessaire installer des éléments structurels supplémentaires pour créer des points d’attache.
  • Page 50 INSTALLATION DU VENTILATEUR Élément structurel Faites passer le fi lin de sécurité autour de l’élément structurel et attachez-le à l’aide de la manille (Fig. 9c). Des exemples d’éléments structurels acceptables sont une poutre en bois ou une entretoise de renfort métallique fi xée entre deux poutres. Dans certains cas, il peut être nécessaire d’installer des éléments structurels supplémentaires afi n de créer des points d’attache.

Dépose du cache inférieur Pour retirer le cache inférieur de la partie inférieure du ventilateur, faites-le pivoter dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre (Fig. 10).   • Page 52 INSTALLATION DU VENTILATEUR Glissez une pale dans la fente, jusqu’à ce qu’elle s’appuie sur la tête de la vis (Fig. 11.2). Assurez-vous que les trois trous sur la pale sont alignés avec les trois trous du moyeu. Fixez sans serrer une bride de pale sur la pale (Fig. 11.3). Ne serrez pas les vis à fond. Répétez l’opération pour mettre en place les pales restantes.

Mise en place de l’éclairage ou du cache inférieur ATTENTION Afi n d’éviter tout risque d’électrocution, couper l’alimentation électrique du ventilateur avant d’installer l’éclairage.
