7.2 Product operation

7.2.1 F- / S- / X-Cruiser
Note
When switching on, make sure that the product is on a flat, even
surface.
Caution
• Always use appropriate lifting and charging technology.
• Choose sturdy, stationary lifting points, for example, in the middle of
the lower section.
• Always lift from a squatting position and not from the back.
Warning
• Pay attention to your fingers. Do not lift the product onto tyres,
protective plates or wheels.
• You could catch your hands or fingers between the tyres and the
protective plate, resulting in injury.
The device has four operating modes:
• Beginner Mode: This mode limits the speed to 6 km/h. The device
reacts more subtly to turning movements.
To choose the mode, place the device on the floor while switched off.
By briefly pushing the 5 button once, the device will automatically
adjust to the neutral position. The device is now in Beginner Mode.
Caution
The device prevents acceleration beyond 6 km/h. It is normal for the
Cruiser to rock when it reaches the speed limit.
• Advanced mode: This mode limits the speed to 15 km/h. To choose
the mode, place the device on the floor while switched off. Push the 5
button twice briefly to make the device automatically adjust to the
neutral 0° position. The device is now in advanced mode.
Caution
The device prevents acceleration beyond 15 km/h. It is normal for the
Cruiser to rock when it reaches the speed limit.
• Cart mode: This mode allows speeds of up to 30 km/h. To choose
the mode, place the device on the floor while switched off. Push the 5
button three times briefly to make the device automatically adjust to
the neutral 0° position. The device is now in cart mode.
Note – Cart mode
• Cart mode is intended to be used only with the cart attachment
(item no. 109888).
• Use of cart mode is entirely at the driver's own risk.

Warning
• Please note that in this mode, the possibility of overloading the
device, resulting in the brief failure of the electronics, cannot be
ruled out.
• Failure of the electronics may cause it to tip over. At high speeds,
this could cause serious injury to the driver.
• The performance limit depends on, amongst other things, the
battery charge level, the weight of the driver, and the surface and
slope of the road. If, for example, you drive from a flat surface onto
an incline, the transition may result in the performance limit being
exceeded.
• Always use quality protective equipment when driving in cart mode.
• Hama GmbH & Co KG assumes no liability for any damage to
property or injury to persons resulting from overloading of the device
in cart mode.
• Safety mode: In the case that the motor, battery or controller
is too hot, or the battery is not charged enough, the product will
automatically switch into safety mode.
Warning
Dismount immediately and switch the product off, if the following
alarm signals indicate that the product is in safety mode:
• Flashing front LEDs (or front and rear LED for F Cruiser)
• Red status LEDs (or green status LEDs for F Cruiser)
• Product brakes automatically
• Alarm sound
Contact the Support team (See 12.3 Service and Support) if the device
unusually switches into the alarm mode after charging.
The device is set into motion as follows:
Transferring weight onto the balls of your feet or heels activates the
movement buttons under the treads, thereby moving the wheels in the
direction of where your feet are pressing and you move forwards or
backwards. When you lean forwards or backwards, your centre of gravity
shifts and the contact surface of the wheels (the point where the wheels
touch the ground) shifts accordingly, and the device leans forwards or
backwards, as well.
However, you have to keep balance by yourself. Otherwise, you may tip
over.
