2. Connect your display (e.g. TV, video projector, monitor) to the HDMI output OUT1. If your TV
has an HDMI ARC port, use this for this purpose.
3. Connect an HDMI input (NOT the HDMI ARC/eARC connection) of your AV receiver to the
HDMI audio output OUT2 of the SW411, and/or connect the Toslink or AUX connection to a
sound device.
4. Connect the power supply unit to the SW411 and plug it into a socket. Then switch on your
display and sound device, followed by one of the players.
Caution: When plugging and unplugging the HDMI cables, make sure that the plug contacts are
not dirty or damaged. Make connections without power and switch on the devices only after they
have been connected. Please also ensure that the HDMI cables are of good quality - especially for
4k transmission.
EDID switch and management
A display or AV receiver connected via HDMI uses EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) to
signal its capabilities (including supported audio formats) to the player. The HDMI source then
automatically outputs the best supported signal. This means that only audio formats that can be
processed will be played. You can use the EDID switch to set which audio EDID should be used for
your configuration. For example, set it to 2.0 if you want to use the analogue output.
In the PASS position, the EDID of the sound device on HDMI output 2 is used so that all audio for-
mats supported there are available. In the other 3 modes, you can set the maximum audio format
manually (i.e. limit or force a higher one).

Notes: Sound is only output via AUX L/R if the audio format is stereo. With Toslink, sound is only
output if stereo, Dolby Digital or DTS is being played. When changing the EDID switch, please note
that it may sometimes be necessary to restart the connected devices. If you do not achieve the
desired output, please proceed as follows:
• Switch on the desired EDID mode.
• Unplug all devices from the mains power for a minute.
• Then plug in the mains plugs and switch on the devices. In the following order: TV, audio de-
vice, HDMI switch, player
