Performing measurements

A General
A1 Measuring leads
The test leads supplied with the measuring instrument must be
used for all measurements except AC current. For AC current mea-
surements, the test leads must be removed from the measuring in-
strument.
A2 HOLD function
To hold a measured value (e.g. when writing a report), operate the
"H HOLD" button (above the rotary switch) once. As a result, the
instantaneously-measured value becomes "frozen". The corre-
sponding "HOLD" symbol appears in the upper left of the display.
To release the measurement again, press the "HOLD" button once
more. As a result, the symbol disappears and the instantaneous
measured value appears immediately.
A3 MAX Function
For maximum value measurements (rising currents, etc.), operate
the "M MAX" button. As a result, only the highest yet occurring
measured values will be displayed. Additionally, the "MAX" symbol
can be seen in the display. To leave the maximum value function,
operate the "M MAX" button anew.
B AC voltage measurements
Never exceed the maximum permissible input le-
vels, also not when measuring superimposed DC
voltages (e.g. ripple voltages). 750 VAC rms max.
