Introduction

The Current Clamp VC - 602 is a combination of a clamp ammeter
and a 3 1/2-digit digital multimeter.
Breaking into measured current circuits is not required as with
"conventional" multimeters (with test leads). The currents to be
measured can be determined directly at individual current supply
cables (single insulated conductors) in equipment (similar to a cur-
rent transformer). As a useful aid, the measuring instrument inclu-
des a "data hold" function, which holds or "freezes" the instanta-
neous value as soon as the "Hold" button is pressed. Maximum va-
lues can be determined with the "MAX" button.
In addition to AC current measurements, voltage measurements to
1000 VDC or 750 VAC rms max. and resistance measurements to
20 MOhm can be performed with this measuring instrument. In ad-
dition, the measuring instrument has a frequency measuring range
up to 40 kHz max., a diode tester for various semiconductors and a
continuity tester. With resistances less than approx. 75 Ohm an
acoustic signal sounds. An exceptional feature in this class is the
ability to measure capacitors up to 200 µF max.
The current clamp is universally applicable in hobby, educational
and (limited) industrial areas.

Handling, Putting into operation

A Inserting and changing the battery
For your current clamp to function perfectly, it must be fitted with a
9 V battery (type 6F22 or equivalent). When the change-battery
symbol appears in the lower left of the display, the batteries must
be replaced. Proceed as follows:
- Disconnect the measuring instrument from the circuit being
