1 Applications

In combination with a 2.4 GHz receiver of the
AV-...R
series
AV-3100TVG serves for wireless audio and video
transmission. For building up a wireless video surveil-
lance system merely a video camera and a monitor
are additionally required.
The transmission range largely depends on the
local conditions. It may reach up to 500 m when there
are no obstacles between transmitter and receiver, in
buildings up to 50 m according to the condition of the
walls and ceilings. By using an antenna with gain at
the receiver, the range can, however, be increased
many times over.

1.1 Conformity and Approval

Herewith, MONACOR INTERNATIONAL declare that
the transmitter AV-3100TVG is in accordance with
the basic requirements and the other relevant
regulations of the directive 1995/5/EC. The declar-
ation of conformity can be found in the Internet
via the MONACOR INTERNATIONAL home page
(www.monacor.com).
The transmitter is licence-free and generally
approved for operation in EU and EFTA countries.
IMPORTANT
Do not make any changes on the adjusting controls
on the PCB! Otherwise the guarantee will expire and
the approval of the transmitter will no longer be valid.
2 Important Notes
The transmitter corresponds to all required directives
of the EU and is therefore marked with
The transmitter is suitable for indoor use only. Pro-
tect it against dripping water and splash water, high
air humidity, and very high and low temperatures
(admissible ambient temperature range -10 °C to
+55 °C).
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
chemicals or water.
No guarantee claims for the transmitter and no lia-
bility for any resulting personal damage or material
damage will be accepted if the transmitter is used for
other purposes than originally intended, if it is not cor-
rectly connected, or not repaired in an expert way.
If the transmitter is to be put out of operation
definitively, take it to a local recycling plant
for disposal which is not harmful to the envi-
ronment.

3 Setting into Operation

3.1 Placing the transmitter and receiver

Practical experience has shown that an optimum
reception is achieved when placing the units at a
minimum height of 1.5 m to 2 m above ground. Prior
transmitter
to final mounting, a trial run is recommended as the
transmission quality can be substantially changed by
displacing the units by a few centimetres only.
3.2 Mounting of the transmitting antenna
1) For mounting the transmitting antenna, first un-
screw it:
Unscrew the plug (2) of the antenna cable of the
transmitter from the antenna jack (3).
Unscrew the antenna rod (a) and pull off the rub-
ber transition piece (b) upwards.
Unscrew the plastic nut (c) and take off the plastic
disc (d).
2) Drill a hole of 18.5 mm diameter at the mounting
place.
3) Insert the basic part (f) with the sealing ring (e)
from below through the mounting hole. Place the
plastic disc (d) from above so that the two lower
guides enclose the basic part (see fig. 5). Tightly
screw everything by means of the plastic nut (c).

4) Mount the rubber transition piece (b) and tightly
screw the antenna rod (a).
5) Insert the plug (2) of the antenna cable of the
transmitter into the antenna jack (3) and tightly
screw it.
IMPORTANT
For reasons of approval only use the supplied
antenna. If another antenna is connected, the ap-
proval will expire!

3.3 Connecting the units

Prior to the connection of units, switch them off first.
Always connect the power supply for the transmitter
last. When changing existing connections, first dis-
connect the power supply for the transmitter and
switch off any connected units.
