1 Applications

In combination with a 5.8 GHz receiver of the AV-58..R
series of MONACOR the transmitter AV-5800TVG
serves for wireless audio and video transmission.
With additional units from the product range of
MONACOR a wireless video surveillance system can
be set up.
The transmission range largely depends on the
local conditions and the receiver used. The maximum
range is reached when there are no obstacles be-
tween transmitter and receiver. In buildings the range
is reduced by walls and ceilings depending on their
condition.

of the EU and is therefore marked with
Only use the transmitter indoors or place it into a

3 Setting into Operation

3.1 Placing the transmitter and receiver

Practical experience has shown that an optimum
reception is achieved when placing the units at a
minimum height of 1.5 m to 2 m above ground. To find
a good place of mounting, a trial run is recommended.
The transmission quality can be substantially changed
by displacing the transmitter and/or the receiver by a
few centimetres only.
3.2 Mounting the transmitting antenna
If several transmitters are operated at the same time,
it has to be taken into account when selecting the
mounting place for the transmitting antenna if the
antenna has to be mounted vertically or horizontally,
see chapter 3.4.
Tightly screw the mounting jack (2) for connecting
the antenna to a suitable place. For this purpose drill
a corresponding hole at the mounting place. Connect
the supplied omnidirectional antenna to the jack and
screw it down.
IMPORTANT
For reasons of approval only use the supplied
antenna. If another antenna is connected, the ap-
proval will expire!

3.3 Connecting the units

Prior to the connection of units, switch them off first.
Always connect the power supply for the transmitter
last. When changing existing connections, first dis-
connect the power supply for the transmitter and
switch off any connected units.
3.3.1 Surveillance camera or signal source
1) Connect the video output of the camera or signal
.
source via a 75 Ω coaxial cable to the cable core of
the black, screened line and the screening of the
coaxial cable to the screening of the black line.
The level of the video signal must be 1 Vpp ac-
cording to standard.
2) In case of audio transmission, connect the audio
signal of the camera or signal source via a screened
audio cable to the green line (audio A) and in case
of stereo transmission in addition to the blue line
(audio B). Connect the screening to the screening
of the black video line as well.
If the transmitter is to be put out of operation
definitively, take it to a local recycling plant
for a disposal which is not harmful to the
environment.
