a) unscrew the oil drain cap situated on the bottom of the pump
b) let the oil ow completely out
c) tightly screw on the drain cap again
d) ll the pump with oil (see section "2.1 Oil lling")
Do not pollute environment with the lubricant; it is a special waste and must be disposed of according
the the current regulations

5. Extraordinary maintenance

Extraordinary maintenance operations must be effected whenever serious problems occur, such as pumps's
overheating, unacceptable vacuum levels, persistant noise, block of the pump and any other irregular
functionings.
In such cases, the opeartor must disassemble the pump, accurately clean its parts and possibly repair or replace
the damaged ones.
These operations on the pump must be made by highly skilled personel, who must strictly observe the above-
mentioned procedures and refer to the exploded views enclosed for the identi cation of the parts. The exploded
views are the only way to identify the right part, in order to ask it as replacement and to replace it correctly. For
