Here the Sentronic valve is installed in a branch of the line connecting the vacuum pump to the load system. Connection is as shown
in the following diagram, with Port 3 blanked off.

PUMP
Operation: The vacuum pump operates continuously and the Sentronic
valve regulates the level of the vacuum in the load system as a function of the
setpoint by allowing air at atmospheric pressure to enter the system a
variable rate.
To optimise the use of a Sentronic valve in this type of application, it is
necessary to:
- Provide a filter (e.g. a silencer) on Port 1 to prevent the ingress of foreign
material.
- Air intake always via Port 1.
- The greater the capacity of the pump, the more difficulty the valve will
have in completely breaking the vacuum at zero volts set point.
Remark:
The vacuum is measured inside the Sentronic valve and it may differ from the
vacuum in the load due to the pressure drop in the air lines.
