With sensitive materials such as wool, wool
mixes, corduroy, velvet and silk, steam the material
from a greater distance.
- In order to test the smoothing of hanging
textiles, always start on a part of the material that
is not visible.
1.Hang the item of clothing on a coat-hanger or the
curtains on a curtain rail.
Empty the pockets.
2.Set the temperature dial to between ** and ***
Max.
3.Turn the steam dial to the desired steam volume.
As soon as the Steam indicator light comes on and
the Temperature indicator light on the iron goes out,
you can start steam ironing.
4.Pull the material flat with one hand. Hold your
hand away from the steam and the soleplate.
There is a risk of burning!
Hold the iron vertical, with the soleplate at a dis-
tance of 10-15cm from the material.
5.Press the steam release button. Wait a few se-
conds so that the steam can penetrate the fabric.
6.In order to switch off the steam generator func-
tion, press the steam release button again.
7.Let the item of clothing dry on the coat-hanger.
Refilling with water
AVERTISSEMENT WARNING – risk of
burns
Be careful when removing the water tank and avoid
touching the hot soleplate of the iron.
CAUTION – risk of material damage
Do not use the steam iron if there is no water in the
water tank or if the Water tank indicator light is lit
up. Otherwise, the pump may be damaged.
If the Water tank indicator light comes on, switch
off the appliance immediately, unplug it and refill
with water.
As the water tank and boiler are separate parts
of the steam generator iron, a cooling break is not
required before refilling.
After use
1.Press the steam release button in order to vent
the rest of the steam out of the boiler.
2.When no more steam is coming out of the
openings in the soleplate, press the steam release
button again in order to switch off the steam gene-
rator function.
3.Place the iron on the rest plate of the base unit.
4.Set the temperature dial to Min.
5.Set the temperature dial to -.
6.Tip the on/off switch to 0.
7.Unplug the plug from the socket.
8.Remove the water tank and empty it.
9.Reposition the tank.
10.Let the appliance completely cool.
Cleaning and storage
DANGER – danger of death from electro-
cution
Remove the plug from the socket before you clean
the appliance.
Do not submerge the appliance in water. Also pro-
tect it from drops and splashes of water.
WARNING risk of burns
Allow the appliance to cool down completely before
cleaning or storing it.
CAUTION – risk of material damage
Do not use any harsh chemicals, aggressive or
abrasive cleaning or limescale removal products for
cleaning.
Cleaning the soleplate
If the iron is no longer gliding well, check the sole-
plate for limescale deposits or other residues.
1.Wipe the soleplate off with a moist cloth.
Limescale deposits can be removed with a cloth
that has been dampened with diluted vinegar.
2.Dry off the soleplate carefully.
Cleaning the iron and the base unit
1.Wipe the iron and the base unit with a moist cloth
if necessary.
2.Dry off the iron and base unit carefully.
Cleaning the water tank
1.Remove the water tank and empty it.
2.Fill the water tank to approximately two thirds
full with fresh tap water. Swill it around carefully in
order to loosen impurities and pour the water out.
Cleaning the boiler
DANGER – danger of death from electro-
cution
No liquid should be allowed to reach the circular
grooves around the opening of the boiler.
If this does occur, turn the base unit upright and
allow it to dry for at least twelve hours.
