the sander in stationary mode.
• Turn the dust container (8) clockwise (fig. B) and remove from the
dust extraction outlet (13) (fig. C).
• Attach vacuum cleaner connector to the dust extraction outlet
(13).
• Install the dust container in reverse sequence to removal.
INSTALLATION OF SANDING BELT
Prior to sanding belt installation ensure the switch is in the
off position and that power cord is disconnected from mains
network.
• Move the sanding belt tension lever (12) to the end in the
direction shown by the arrow (fig. D).
• Put sanding belt on rollers (fig. E).
• Move the sanding belt tension lever (12) to its original position.
Ensure the direction of the arrow located on the sanding paper
back surface matches direction of the arrow located on the belt
sander body.
INSTALLATION OF THE ADD-ON FOR STATIONARY OPERATION
Special add-on allows to use the sander in stationary mode.
• Put the add-on (14) onto upper part of the sander body.
• Insert the supports (15) so they match with their guides in the
add-on (14) and fix with included bolts and nuts (fig. F).
• Turn the sander over and rest the add-on (14) on a workbench top.
• Insert the fixing clamps (16) in the add-on (14) sockets and secure
to workbench top (fig. G).
You can install the fixing clamps (16) either on the right or on the left
side of the add-on (14).
OPERATION / SETTINGS
SWITCHING ON / OFF
Before connecting the belt sander to a power supply network,
always check that power supply voltage matches rated voltage
shown on the rating plate that is fixed to the power tool, and
that switch is in the off position.
During operation hold the sander firmly with both hands. Switch
on the belt sander only when it is lifted above the material that
you plan to process.
Switching on – press the switch button (5) and hold in this position.
Switching off – release pressure on the switch button (5).
Locking the switch (continuous operation)
Switching on:
• Press the switch button (5) and hold in this position.
• Press the switch button lock (4) (fig. H).
• Release pressure on the switch button (5).
Switching off:
• Press and release the switch button (5).
VOLTAGE INDICATOR LAMP
When the sander is connected to power supply socket, the voltage
indicator lamp (10) turns on.
ADJUSTMENT OF SANDING BELT POSITION (SETTING THE
GUIDE ROLLERS PARALLEL)
• Switch the sander on.
• During sanding belt movement turn the sanding belt adjustment
wheel (9) (fig. I) so the sanding belt (11) runs smoothly and does
not move aside (fig. K).
If you allow the sanding belt to shift to the side of the sander
(which would mean that roller axes are not parallel), the belt will
be damaged quickly.
When using the belt sander try to position the belt surface and
surface of processed material in parallel. Hold the additional grip
(1) and the main handle (3) firmly and move the sander back and
forth smoothly.
Do not press the belt sander too hard. Pressure must be
moderate and uniform on the whole surface of contact of belt
and processed material. Applying too big pressure causes
undesirable drop of belt speed, motor overheating, damage
of processed material and parts of the sander. Make periodic
breaks in operation.
ADJUSTMENT OF SANDING BELT SPEED
You can control sanding belt speed by turning the wheel for
adjustment of sanding belt speed (2) and setting it in desired
position. It allows to adjust the power tool working speed to match
characteristics of processed material. Speed control range is 1 to 6.
The bigger the number on the wheel rim (2) (fig. L), the greater the
belt sander operation speed.
CHECKING SANDING BELT
Due to loss in efficiency after long time of using the same sanding
belt, replace the belt immediately when you see it is excessively worn.
CHOOSING SANDING BELT
For rough sanding use sanding belts with 40 or 60 grit. For finish or
polishing use sanding belts with grit marked with bigger number.
When surface of the processed material is coarse, first use sanding
belt for rough sanding and only after that use sanding belt with grit
for fine sanding.
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Unplug the power cord from mains socket before commencing any
activities related to installation, adjustment, repair or maintenance.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
• Cleaning the device after each use is recommended.
• Do not use water or any other liquid for cleaning.
• Clean the device with a dry cloth or blow through with compressed
air at low pressure.
• Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents, since they may damage
plastic parts.
• Clean ventilation holes in the motor casing regularly to prevent device
overheating.
• In case of power cord damage replace it with a cord with the same
specification. Entrust the repair to a qualified specialist or return the
tool to a service point.
• In case of excessive commutator sparking, have the technical
condition of carbon brushes of the motor checked by a qualified
person.
• Always store the tool in a dry place, beyond reach of children.
REPLACEMENT OF DRIVE BELT
Belt sander will not work properly if driving belt is worn. Belt
replacement is necessary.
• Use screwdriver to unscrew the screw that fix driving belt cover (6)
and remove the cover.
• Remove the driving belt (17) by turning the pulleys manually and
pulling the belt off.
• To install new drive belt do as follows:
- put the drive belt onto smaller pulley,
- rotate pulleys and draw the drive belt (17) over the bigger
pulley (fig. M).
• Install drive belt cover (6) and tighten fixing screws.
Ensure the drive belt is correctly set on both driving pulleys.
REPLACEMENT OF CARBON BRUSHES
Immediately replace worn out (shorter than 5 mm), burnt or
cracked motor carbon brushes. Always replace both carbon
brushes at a time.
Entrust replacement of carbon brushes only to a qualified
person. Use only original parts.
All defects should be repaired by service workshop authorized by
the manufacturer.
