In this section you will learn how to align the antennas
optimally. We ask you to be patient and take your time with
this task to achieve the best result.
Important tips for alignment
Locate the nearest cell towers. You can find the locations of your
nearest cell towers online, using our cell tower link collection or
simply contact your mobile phone provider for information about
the nearest cell tower. This will save you time.
Disconnect the connected devices from the router before you
begin alignment.
Your router may not be able to display the received signal. In this
case you have to test the most suitable antenna viewing direction
by internet speed tests (e.g. www.rtr-netztest.at).
To establish a 2x2 MIMO connection, both antennas must be
aligned to the same mobile phone mast.
Please note that if the distance between the individual antennas is
too small (antennas cross each other), the signal can interfere
strongly. The minimum distance between the antennas is 33cm.
Power pylons, wind turbines, buildings, structures in the
direction of the antenna etc. can cause significant reception inter-
ference.
It happens that the mobile radio signal is more stable when reflect-
ed by objects, floors, buildings, etc., and in some cases even from
more distant masts.
In some cases, reflections at the installation point can disturb the
connection.
The movement of the individual antennas towards / away from
each other and the vertical tilting of the antennas affects the recep-
tion power.
You have mounted the antennas 90° offset to each other on the buffalo
pipe as shown in the pictures. Now move the buffalo pipe in the direc-
tion with the best signal.
Check on the user interface of your external device how strong the
signal is. Note that the signal displayed on the router is (usually) delayed
by up to 30 seconds.
