NORMAL SWITCH OFF
Pressing the switch 4. in position "0" (fi gure 15) turns off the electric supply to the water heater
and shuts down the fl ame through closure of the gas valve. However, we suggest you also
shut off the gas valve outside the heater.
PROLONGED SHUT-DOWN
If the water heater is to remain out of service for a long period, in a room subject to freezing
temperatures, it is indispensable to:
• Leave the water heater switched on with the gas valve open and the thermostat set to the
antifreeze position, symbol "
". Or else proceed to:
• Drain the tank,
• Close the gas supply valve,
• Switch off the electric supply to the water heater.
SPECIAL FUNCTIONS
The electronic component of the heater off ers many special functions that are available du-
ring heater operation. These are:
• Special safety functions,
• Special service functions.
Special safety functions
These functions are always active when the heater is connected to the electric supply. They
concern all the controls that provide the heater with active safety protection, and that is:
"Over-temperature". If for any reason the water temperature in the heater exceeds +99°C, a
safety thermostat interrupts the electric circuit of the gas valve, locking the heater out of ser-
vice. The situation is signalled by the red lamp marked "RESET".
Before re-starting the water heater (acting as shown in item 8.1) you MUST fi rst remove the
cause of the critical situation that caused the stoppage.
Special service functions
These too are active when the water heater is connected to the electric supply and refer to
services that are of help to the user, and that is:
"Anti-freeze".. If the water temperature in the heater falls below +10°C, the burner ignites for a
short time so as to avoid, by heating the water, the formation of ice and consequent damage
to the water heater tank.
"Timer". Using the optional "TIMER KIT" (to be separately acquired) you can set a daily or
weekly start-up and shut-down schedule for the water heater. The heater is already arranged
for connection of this kit.
"Remote lock-out warning". On the water heater terminal strip there is an output to which
you can connect a remote device for signalling any heater lock-outs (signal lamp at 230V).
