MOUNT HEIGHT AND CLEARANCE
It is important to install the hood at the proper mounting height. Hoods
mounted too low could result in heat damage and fire hazard, while hoods
mounted too high will be hard to reach and will loose its performance
and efficiency.
If available, also refer to range manufacturer's height clearance requirements
and recommended hood mounting height above range.
Clearance between
hood and stove:
25" (63.5 cm) to 30" (76.2 cm)
Stove
DUCTING
Duct size: 3 ¼" X 10" (8.3 cm X 25.4 cm) duct or a minimum of 6" (15.2 cm)
round duct must be used to maintain maximum airflow efficiency.
Flexible ducts are provided for convenience, use rigid metal ducts to
maximize airflow.
Use the calculations to get the total available duct run when using elbows,
transitions and caps.
When possible, always reduce the number of transitions and turns. If a long
duct is required, increase the duct size from 6" (15.2 cm) to 7" (17.8 cm)
or 8" (20.3 cm).
If a reducer is needed, install a long reducer instead of a short reducer.
Reduce the duct size as far away from the opening as possible. If turns
or transitions are required, install them as far away as possible from
the opening and as far apart between two as possible.

36"
(91.4 cm)
To calculate the length of duct needed, you will need to deduct each
elbow, transition, and vent.
6" (15.2 cm) or 3 1/4" X 10" (8.3 cm X 25.4 cm) duct
Deduct
Each 90° elbow
Each 45° elbow
Each transition from 6" (15.2 cm) to 3 1/4" X 10" (8.3 cm X 25.4 cm)
Each transition from 3 ¼" X 10" (8.3 cm X 25.4 cm) to 6" (15.2 cm)
Wall cap
Roof cap
e.g.: If you install 1 X roof cap + 2 X 90° elbows + 1 X 45° elbow =
30' (9.14 m) + 30' (9.14 m) + 9' (2.74 m) = 69' (21.02 m) used.
This result deducted from 100' (30.48 m) means you have 31' (9.45 m)
available for straight duct run.
INSTALLATION
Carefully remove protective film from all exterior surfaces of the hood
prior to final installation.
PREPARATION
1. Remove the filters.
2. Remove electrical power cable knockout from top or back of hood.
3. Remove vertical or horizontal knockout plate as appropriate for
your ducting method (see page 4).
4. Attach the damper assembly on top or back of hood over the knockout
opening.
5. Note: When the damper is well attached, it should open and
close freely.
6. Attach an adequate length of duct to the air outlet adapter.
7. Secure the duct connected with the air outlet adapter by using
duct tape to seal the joints.
MOUNTING
1. Mark the screws holes in the bottom of kitchen cabinet as per position
of screws holes at the top of hood.
2. Install the screws in the bottom of kitchen cabinet.
3. Hook hood onto the screws in the kitchen cabinet.
4. Balance the hood body by slightly adjusting the hood mounting screws.
5. Tighten all screws until secure.
6. Connect the wiring (see page 4).
7. Turn the power back on.
8. Test the function of the unit, speed and lights.
9. Replace the filters.
