DANGER
!
To reduce the risk of electric shock:
• NEVER perform maintenance with
charger plugged into AC power source.
WARNING
!
To reduce the risk of personal injury
and/or property damage:
• DO NOT disassemble this charger. No
user serviceable parts are available for
this device.
OPERATION
• ON / OFF key - When AC power cord is
plugged into the AC outlet, the digital
indicator should display the term 'OFF'.
Press and release the 'ON/OFF' key to cycle
the system to display the term 'ON'.
When 'ON' is displayed, the charger is ready
to respond to the following key commands.
• Select key - This key allows the user to
select the charge rate appropriate for the
battery to be charged. The user can select
2, 6, 10, 12, & 15 charge rates.
Press once for the display to show '2A',
indicating a 2 amp charge will begin in about
1 second.
You may press the key again at any time to
select a higher charge rate.
The charger will display 'FUL' till the battery
is fully charged. Following, the charger will
go into maintenance mode automatically to
warm up the battery from discharging and
maintain a full charge. During this mode
when battery is unable to take any charge,
the charger will shut off and wake up to
continue the charge till the battery
discharges to pre-determined low level.
However, never exceed the battery
m a n u f a c t u r e r ' s

Charge rates can be determined by
checking with the battery manufacturer.
Many times that information is part of the
equipment manufacturer's owners manual
or battery label.
indicator will display a 3 character voltage
measurement; i.e. 13.4, 15.5, etc.
Press the key again and it will display the
% charge of the battery. To get an accurate
percent (%) charge reading, you should let
the battery set for 20 minutes in a 'no charge'
condition in order to remove any surface
charge that has accumulated.
You may use the Volt./Bat.% key at any time
except during the Maintenance charge cycle
and Alternator Test cycle.
NOTE: Detecting a rapidly changing voltage
battery could generate an inaccurate result.
The Battery capacity% shown in the
charging process is the charging Battery
capacity% and usually not precise with
inconsistent values due to so-called 'surface
charge'. For more accurate reading after
charging process is disconnected, the
surface charge should be removed by
temporarily creating a load on the battery,
such as by turning on lights or other
accessories.
The Battery capacity% displayed is an
estimated value, not precise diagnosis and
getting less precise due to battery conditions
such as aging, sulfated plates, internal open
cell and shorted cell.
will result in a charge cycle called a
'Maintenance Cycle'. This cycle is also
referred to as a 'Pulse' cycle. During this
cycle, small impulses of electrical energy
are sent to the battery. This helps to de-
sulfate the battery plates and 'maintain' a
full charge.
