Read the information relating to safety before carrying out measurements.
Always check the device to detect any damage, contamination (excessive
dust, grease, etc.) and possible defects. Examine the test cords to check if
the insulation is not damaged or the wires are not cut off or shredded. If
abnormal conditions are detected, do not perform the measurement.
Voltage measurements
1. Connect the red test cord to the "VΩ" socket and the black test cord to the
"COM" socket.
2. Place the Function/Range selector switch on the voltage type (AC or DC)
and desired range. If the magnitude of the voltage is unknown, place the
selector switch on the highest range of values and reduce until a satisfactory
reading is obtained. If "1" is displayed on the screen, shift to a higher range
as the current range is saturated.
3. Connect the test cords to the device or to the circuit to be measured.
4. The input impedance of 10 MΩ can cause measurement uncertainties for
high impedances. If the impedance of the circuit is less than or equal to 10
kΩ, the measurement uncertainties may be ignored (0.1 % or less).
Current measurements
1. Place the Function/Range selector switch on the current range. If the
magnitude of the current is unknown, place the selector switch on the
highest range of values and reduce until a satisfactory reading is obtained.
2. For current measurements of less than 2 A, connect the red test cord to
the "A" socket and the black test cord to the "COM" socket.
3. For current measurements equal to or greater than 2 A, connect the red
test cord to the "10 A" socket and the black test cord to the "COM" socket.
4. Disconnect the power supply of the circuit to be tested and open the
normal circuit at the spot where the measurement needs to be performed.
Connect the device in series with the circuit.
