outside of the axle on
the propulsion wheel
and pull down on the
wheel at the same
time. If re-assembling
in reverse order,
ensure that the locks
of the quick release
axles are engaged!
The locking button
must bounce back to
its original position.
After re-assembly, always check to ensure that the
rear wheels are firmly in place!

Holding brakes
The wheelchair is
equipped with two
holding brakes. The
brakes are applied
directly to the rear
wheels. To hold the
wheelchair in position,
press both brake
levers as far forward
as they will go. The
holding brake (parking
brake) is released by
pulling the brake lever backwards.
Brake performance declines when
- the tyre profile is heavily worn
- the tyres are wet
- the brakes are improperly configured.
The holding brakes are not designed to stop the
wheelchair in motion, and the brakes should not
be operated when the chair is moving.
Always use the
brake provided
for the compani-
on to brake the
wheelchair.
Please note that
the gap between
the holding brake
and the tyre is
approx. 3 mm. To
adjust the brake,
loosen the fas-
tening screw on the
frame and set the
14
at
distance as shown above. Tighten the screw after
completing the operation.
Important: If any adjustments are made to the
configuration of the rear wheel, the brake confi-
guration must be rechecked and may need to be
reset.
Important: If the all-rubber tyres wear out, the
effectiveness of the brakes may be affected. The ef-
fectiveness of brakes should therefore be checked
at regular intervals.
Tilting aid with
tipping protector
The wheelchair user's
companion can use
the tipping tilting aid
found at the bottom of
the wheelchair to tilt it.
When standing behind
the wheelchair, the
companion steps on
the left or right-hand til-
ting bar making it easy
to slide the wheelchair
over the kerb.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Water and, if necessary, a mild detergent can be
used to clean the wheelchair. Tougher stains can
be removed using car shampoo. When cleaning the
wheelchair, no water should be allowed to penetra-
te the frame. For that reason, the wheelchair must
only be cleaned when fully assembled. Servicing
should be performed by your specialist retailer
when required or replace the wheelchair regularly
if it becomes worn out. If regular inspection reveals
defects in braking power, contact your retailer
immediately! The wheelchair must not be used
without being repaired by a specialist!
Perform the following maintenance regularly:
- Check the tyres for wear every four weeks.
- Check every six months to ensure that all screws
are tightly seated.
- Lubricate the quick release axles using sewing
machine oil every eight weeks.
- Seawater, road salt and sand damage the bea-
rings and steering components of the wheelchair.
After using the wheelchair in areas affected by the
above, the wheelchair should be cleaned thoroug-
hly using fresh water.
