The value displayed is slightly greater than 0 when you release the
magnification button.
4.1.5 Adjust the slope.
Pour 25 ml of calibration solution (sodium hydrocarbonate, item no. 107 454)
in a pill bottle or other narrow-necked container, add 3 ml of citric acid (item
no. 107 452). Mix and then insert the probe in the solution right away.
While gently agitating, wait about 4 min and adjust the slope button
obtain the value closest to 5.8% +/- 0.1%.
Note:
After 10 to 15 minutes, this solution is no longer effective. If this time
period is exceeded, make up a new solution and adjust the value.
4.1.6 Rinse the probe with distilled water.
4.1.7 Hints and tips
Mark the positions of the buttons on the adapter.
After performing a careful calibration, the positions of the buttons on the
adapter can be marked with a felt tip pen. Doing so will enable you make an
accurate readjustment quickly without having to recalibrate the probe. These
markings are only reusable if the same probe is used with the same adapter.
If you change either the adapter or the probe, the markings are no longer
usable.
Calibration frequency
As long as the same adapter is used with the same probe, the calibrated
probe will remain correctly calibrated. It is therefore not necessary to
recalibrate for each use. The calibration can be checked quickly by
measuring the CO
in the air exhaled into an erlenmeyer flask or a vessel for
2
measuring human respiration (do not blow directly on the probe head). This
reactivity makes it possible to perform qualitative measurements.
4.1.8 With Sérénis software
In order to perform a quick calibration, with the Sérénis software it is possible
to calibrate 4 probes at once in the same solution in the Sérénis display
mode. After the calibration is completed, attach the adapter-probe
assemblies to the other interfaces.
4.2 With your AirNeXT or Foxy interface
1- Connect your Foxy interface to the mains.
2- Connect the CO
probe to the CO
2
3- Plug in the CO
sensor.
2
4- Wait for about 10 minutes until the sensor is ready: during this time a
triangle appears above the hourglass and vanish when the sensor is ready.
5- Put the probe successively head-up and head-down: the value fluctuates
if there is an air bubble. In this case, remove the probe head and fill it up
again.
