If the probe must be readjusted to zero, wait 15 min. before doing so.

Setup
3.1 Assembly
The probe is shipped assembled, but without electrolyte. The probe head is
protected by a cap. Before use, simply remove this cap. Be sure to remove it
gently or the membrane may be damaged.
If the part clipped on the head removes at the same time as the
protection, you have to put it back.
3.2 Filling the probe head
Unscrew the head and then fill lit with electrolyte (Item no. 105 175). Tap the
head on the work surface to remove the air bubbles. Make sure that a small
quantity of the electrolyte overflows when screwing the head back onto the
probe. The presence of a large air bubble can be detected by taking a
reading with the head pointing upwards and then downwards; the value will
fluctuate if there is an air bubble. If this is the case, unscrew the head and
top up the electrolyte solution.
When screwing the head back onto the probe, the excess electrolyte will
overflow; therefore, rinse the probe head with a jet of distilled water.
3.3 Polarization
The probe is polarized by filling the head with electrolyte (see the preceding
section) and letting it stand with the head pointing downwards for a time
period specified in the table below.
The probe should be polarized in the following cases:
Case
Initial use
After changing the
electrolyte
After changing the
probe head
Note:
Polarization does not require electricity; the operation can be performed
without plugging the probe into its adapter or the computer assisted
experimental system. For this probe, polarization means that a chemical
equilibrium is established in all parts of the glass electrode.
After the probe is polarized, it must be calibrated. See the following section.
