1 Introduction
The CO probe is a Severinghaus electrode probe.

The electrolyte and the membrane are designed specifically for measuring
CO . The probe can be used in aqueous or gaseous media.

It will work with the following adapters:
ESAO 3.1 CO metric adapter

ESAO 4 CO metric adapter

VTT CO metric sensor
2
CO sensor – advanced

in conjunction with the appropriate interfaces; ESAO 3.1, ESAO 4,
VTT/Primo and AirNeXT/Foxy, respectively.
It will also work with a pH meter with an input impedance greater than 10
and equipped with a BNC plug, and which reads the values in mV.
The probe consists of a pH electrode. This electrode is designed especially
to measure CO and is immersed in a special electrolyte. The pH of this

electrolyte is a function of the CO
placed. A Teflon membrane selectively permeable to CO
electrolyte from the medium to be analyzed.
The probe is connected to the CO
and the BNC plug.
The following types of experiments can be performed:
- human, animal and plant respiration,
- photosynthesis,
- fermentation.
ATTENTION:
The electrode contains ethylene glycol, which is an irritant. The other
chemical compounds are not dangerous.
The pH electrode is made of a special, thin glass and is therefore fragile.
