14. Excerpt from "A.T P EUROPE" regulation
Licence for vehicles transporting perishable commodities.
Before using a refrigerated vehicle, the same has to be licensed by the qualified authorlty (departmental
Veterinary Service).
CHARACTERlSTlCS OF VEHICLE FOR PERISHABLE COMMODITIES TRANSPORT REFRIGERATED MOTOR VEHICLE.
A refrigerated vehicle Is an isothermal vehicle equipped with a cooling device which enables, wilh an external
temperature of +30°C, to lower the inside temperature of the empty isothermal cold room and to keep it as
follows:
TYPE A
Refrigerated vehicle equipped with cooling device enabling temperature selection between +12 °C and
0 °C inclusive.
TYPE B
Refrigerated vehicle equipped with cooling device enabling temperature selectlon between +12 °C and
-10 °C inclusive.
TYPE C
Refrlgerated vehlcle equlpped wlth coollng device enabling temperature selection between +12 °C and
-20 °C incluslve.
Refrigerating capacity of units is assessed through measurement carried out at an authorized test station
and is certified by a report,
Note: "K" factor of bodies to be classified as TYPE C, are to be equal or less than 0.4 W/m2 °C.
Symbols, elements and identification plates to be affixed on refrigerated vehicles.

Said wording has to be followed by the identification elements In accordance to the following list:
Standard refrigerated vehicle
Strengthened refrigerated vehicle Type A
Strenqthened refrigerated vehicle Type B
Strengthened refrigerated vehicle Type C
Further to the above identification elements, the plate has to indicate the expiry date of the Iicence
certificate (month, year).

(6 = months June, 2003 - year)
Regularly check the expiry date of the licence certificate.
During transportation, licence certificate or provisory certificate has to be shown to the authorized
agents on request.
To obtain authorization to use an isothermal vehicle as refrigerating unit, it is required to send a request of
modification of the licence certificate to the qualified authority (Health Service Department ).
