Cherry Tomatoes:
• As soon as green tomatoes begin to grow, use
clean stakes to support the plant.
• Harvest when the fruit is red but still firm.
Sweet Bell Pepper:
• Harvest anytime when the fruit changes color
(from green to yellow to red). The longer bell
peppers ripen, the sweeter they become.
Handle the plant with care, stems are very fragile!
Hot Chili :
• Harvest when the fruit is bright red.
Strawberry:
• Harvest with the stem when the fruit is
completely red.
Pollinating fruiting plants
Fruiting plants (tomatoes, pepper, hot chili) will
only grow from pollinated flowers. Our Lingots®
are all self-pollinating plants (meaning individual
flowers contain both the male and the female
parts needed for fertilization). But sometimes
natural airflow in your home will not be enough
to spread the pollen. If you want better result you
need to pollinate your plants once they begin to
bloom.
To do so, use one of the following methods:
- Gently shaking the plant by hand (optimum
solution for tomatoes)
- Place a fan near your plants to create artificial
"wind."
- Gently brush the inside of the flowers with a
small, soft paintbrush (optimum solution for
bell pepper and hot chili)
Pollinate your flowering plant at least every 2
days, and only when lights are on.

Taking care of your Garden
• As your plants age you may see some brown
or yellow leaves. This is perfectly normal. Pull
these to keep the plant fresh and help ward off
disease.
• Keep your Garden clear of dead leaves.
• Remove dead, brown stems at the base with
scissors (do not pull).

Before going on vacation
The autonomy of your Véritable Garden depends
on your room temperature and growing stage of
your plants.
• Fill-up the Reservoir to the maximum.
• Harvest your plants and adjust the light
• For long period of absence, it is best to start
with new Lingots (autonomy up to 4 weeks).
• Adult plants: watering autonomy is 1-2 weeks.
REPLACING LINGOTS®
When to replace a Lingot®?
When your plant no longer produces enough,
doesn't grow back after harvest or its flavor is less
tasty, it is time to replace your Lingot®. (Refer to
the Lingot box to know the average lifetime).
How to remove a Lingot®?
• Over the sink : squeeze the Basket to compress
the Lingot. Release, then shake the Basket
upside down or hold
all the stems of the
plant to pull out the
Lingot.
What to do with
your old Lingot®?
• Replant it in soil (depending
of the plant condition).
• Compost it
• Mix it with soil in your
garden or flower pot.

Clean your Véritable® Garden before using new
Lingots (see «Cleaning and storing»).
Remplacing watering wicks :
It is best to replace the
watering wicks every 6
months, especially if roots
have passed through. To
remove the wicks, push
them from the inside of the
Basket.
Can I use my own seeds and/or soil?
The Véritable® Garden is only compatible with
Lingots®.
- Our special substrate is designed to work with
Véritable® Garden wick watering system. It
also guarantee proper root oxygenation and an
optimal humidity level at any time.
- We have selected plant species for their rich
flavors, their rapid growth and their compact
full grown size adapted to the Véritable Garden.
If you try your own seeds, soil and/or nutrients,
we can't guarantee it will grow as efficiently as
with our patented Lingots®.
The warranty will lapse if the device is damaged
because of improper use.

CLEANING AND STORING

Cleaning
Never immerse Reservoir, Lighting
Poles and Power Cord in water or
other liquid, or place under running
water.
We advise you to clean your Véritable® Garden
while changing Lingots (or approximately every 6
months).
• Disconnect power before cleaning.
• The 4 Baskets and Float are dishwasher-proof.
Other parts must be hand-cleaned.
• To avoid scratching, only use a soft cloth or
a soft sponge. Do not use abrasive cleaning
agents (use only mild soap or white vinegar).
• Towel dry before reassembling.
• Replace watering wicks once a year.
Storage
Device:
• When the Véritable® Garden is not in use, pull
out the main plug.
• Use original packaging for storage.
Lingot® :
• Always Store your Lingots in a cool, dry place in
their original box.
