3-Bend Saddle
A Saddle creates a bridge to avoid an obstruction blocking the run of the conduit and returning the end of the
conduit to the same level as the original run of conduit.
1. Measure the HEIGHT of the obstruction and the
LENGTH TO CENTER of the saddle. Select an angle
for the outer bends. The center bend will be twice
the selected angle. (Fig.8)

2. Find the shrinkage per inch for the outer bend
angles (Table 1). Multiply the Table 1 value by the
Height for the Total Shrink.
Total Shrink = Height x Shrink
3. Measure Length to Center + Total Shrink to find
MARK A.
4. Measure 2.5 x Height from each side of MARK A
(Table 3) for MARK B & C.

5. Mark conduit. (Fig. 9)

6. Follow bending sequence; B>A>C or C>A>B. Align
the MARK B & C bending marks with the arrow and
MARK A with the saddle notch. The bend at MARK A
will be twice the bend angle for B & C.(Fig. 10)
