- Page 10 INTRODUCTION Read the whole of this book before commencing work with the unit. The Techne CH-5 fridge units are designed to work with the Techne PC-5 at temperatures between +4°C and +15°C using demineralised water. Each unit is fitted with a thermostat which controls the temperature of liquid in the bath.

However many things will affect the minimum obtainable temperature, such as: ambient temperature, insulation and length of circulation system, condition of the working liquid, heat input and so...
- Page 12 C H - 5 C h i l l e r U S E R ’ S M A N U A L Siting Considerations The units are air cooled, air being pulled in through the front and expelled from the rear. The ventilation grilles should never be obstructed, therefore, as this will detract from the performance.
- Page 13 C H - 5 C h i l l e r U S E R ’ S M A N U A L 2 Set up the chiller on a level surface. Use demineralised water to fill the bath and cover the cooling coil. Demineralised water is preferred to reduce the formation of scale.
