Read the complete user manual before carrying out the installation and activating the system. Keep
this manual for future reference.
1. DESCRIPTION
This motion detector registers movement via a passive infrared sensor (PIR). It is most sensitive for movements
passing through the detection area (see fig. 1a). The sensitivity for movements directly towards the sensor is
about 50% less (see fig. 1b).
The sensor only switches on once the set daylight condition (twilight level) is no longer reached. The duration
of activation is extended as long as movements of persons are detected (see fig. 1d).
The motion detector comes in three versions:

(surface-mounting*)
Surface-mounting
Round
Square
* by making use of the surface-mounting box 351-25400 (square) or 351-25420 (round).
2. USE
The motion detector is suitable for controlling lighting.
Be aware of the following during installation:
• Mount the motion detector solely on stable ceilings.
• Hide moving objects in the detection area by shielding the lens.
• Do not place any lighting closer than 1 m from the sensor (see fig 2).
• Do not mount the motion detector in the path of direct cold or hot air flow.
3. MOUNTING
The motion detector is designed for ceiling mounting. The range of the detection area depends on the mounting
height (see fig. 1c).
The detector is mounted as follows:
Surface-mounting version 351-25050
1. Release the motion detector from the surface-
mounting box by rotating it anticlockwise (see
fig. 4).
2. Draw the bore holes on the ceilings and bore
the holes.
3. Pull the wires through the wire inputs (see fig. 4a).
4. Secure the surface-mounting box with the screws
provided (see fig. 4b).
5. Connect the detector as shown in the wiring
diagram in fig. 7 (also see § 5).
6. Refasten the detector on the surface-mounting box.
7. Configure the motion detector (see § 7).
4. WIRING
Connect the detector as shown in the wiring diagram in fig. 7.
With the flush-mounting versions 351-25000, 351-25340, 351-25060 and 351-25065 you can switch the
conductor to the R entrance on and off with an external push button. Use a NO push button without indication
LED and limit the length of the electrical wires.

5. CONNECT DEVICES
A high inrush current decreases the life span of the relay integrated into the motion detector. Respect the technical
specifications of the lighting manufacturers to prevent overloading the relay (see fig. 3a and 3b). We recommend
switching a maximum of 3 to 4 motion detectors in parallel. This keeps the switching circuit organized. If the
average number of switching cycles is more than average or in case of increased burden, we recommend to
run the load via an external relay or external fuse.
6. CONFIGURATION
The motion detector is ready for use approximately 1 minute after connection to the electricity grid. The settings
can only be changed while the motion detector is switched on. You can change the settings using the rotary
switches on the device or the remote control 351-25320 (to be bought separately).
6.1. Switch-off delay
Using the TIME potentiometer, the switch-off delay after the final movement is set (see fig. 5b). Once the relay
output is connected to a staircase timer, set the TIME switch to 'impulse'
6.2. Light sensitivity
Using the LUX potentiometer, you can set the threshold value of the twilight switch continuously ð (daytime
mode, 2000 lux) and ƒ (night mode, 5 lux) (see fig. 5a).
6.3. Detection range
Using the SENS potentiometer, you can set the sensitivity of the PIR sensor (see fig. 5c).
7. EXTERNAL PUSH BUTTON
You can always connect a push button to the detector to switch the light on and off manually. The status (ON or
OFF) is extended with each detection. After the final detection, the status remains the same until the switch-off
delay has lapsed.

8. DISPLAY
The statuses pictured below are shown with the indication LED on the device. You can change the settings
using the rotary switches on the device or the remote control 351-25320 (to be bought separately). If a setting
is changed, the relay output of the sensor will switch off briefly.

1. Release the motion detector from its base (see
fig. 4).
2. Connect the base as shown in the wiring diagram
in fig. 7 (also see § 4).
3. Secure the base in a flush-mounting box. This
product needs to be installed in a flush-mounting
box with dimensions according to the CEE7
standard sheet XIII or XV and a minimum flush
mounting depth of 40 mm.
4. Configure the motion detector (see § 6).
5. Place the detector on the base again.

Warnings regarding installation
The installation of products that will permanently be part of the electrical installation and which include dangerous
voltages, should be carried out by a qualified installer and in accordance with the applicable regulations. This
user manual must be presented to the user. It should be included in the electrical installation file and it should be
passed on to any new owners. Additional copies are available on the Niko website or via Niko customer services.
CE marking
This product complies with all of the relevant European guidelines and regulations. For radio equipment Niko llc
declares that the radio equipment in this manual conforms with the 2014/53/EU directive. The full text of the
EU declaration of conformity is available at www.niko.eu under the product reference, if applicable.
Environment
This product and/or the batteries provided cannot be disposed of in non-recyclable waste. Take your discarded
product to a recognised collection point. Just like producers and importers, you too play an important role in
the promotion of sorting, recycling and reuse of discarded electrical and electronic equipment. To finance the
rubbish collection and waste treatment, the government levies recycling charges in certain cases (included in
the price of this product).
