2.1 General

These instructions apply to the various models of the HEROS-matrix, article no.
1572XX. The HEROS-matrix fire fighting helmet was designed and tested in accordance
with European standards EN 16471:2014 and EN16473:2014.
2.2 HEROS-matrix specifications
Tested according to the standard EN 16471:2014 and EN 16473:2014 C 0299
Head sizes: 51-65 cm (adjustable)
E 2 (optional requirement 4.12.2. – insulation of wet helmet – fulfilled)
E 3 (optional requirement 4.12.3. – surface insulation – fulfilled)
C (optional requirement 4.13. – contact with chemicals – fulfilled)
*** (optional requirement – minus 30°C – fulfilled)
Weight of helmet (without visor, and neck protection): approx.1000 g.
2.3 Resistance against chemicals
The HEROS-matrix helmet, together with the visors, has been inspected for
resistance against the following chemicals according to EN 16473:2014 / 5.13 and
EN 14458 / 5.2.16:
Sulphuric acid 30% (aqueous solution)
Sodium hydroxide 10% (aqueous solution)
p-xylene, undiluted
Butan-1-ol, undiluted
n-heptane, undiluted
3. ASSEMBLY
3.1 Helmet shell
If the helmet shell is damaged, the protective function of the helmet may
be affected and therefore, the damage must be repaired by a professional
immediately.
